European Future of Belarus: Effective Outreach of Youth and Students

We are pleased to inform you that Robert Schuman Institute, Budapest in cooperation with the Dutch Eduardo Frei Foundation and EDUCATIO: Institute for Development and Training, Vilniusthe Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftungand the International Republican Institute announce the application process for the seminar“European Future of Belarus: Effective Outreach of Youth and Students” open.The course will be provided for 20 representatives of centre-right youth and student organisations of Belarus.

Aim of the Project: / to gather the centre-right youth and student organisations of Belarus together with the youth and students of the European People’s Party family to exchange their views on policies that have an impact on their life. The possibilities of future collaboration and the implementation of good practices of interest representation are among the key elements of the program. Thus formulating the positions and the needs of Belarusian youth organisations will serve as a shared platform, participants improve their ability to communicate it towards domestic Belarusian target groups, NGOs of overlapping interests, international partners/donors, and they will also develop personal skills for effective message delivery. The program will give a good opportunity for networking among Belarusian organisations and youth/student organisations of the EPP family.
Target Group: / 20 selected participants will be active members of centre-right youth and student organisations as of: United Civic Party, Movement for Freedom, Belarusian Christian Democrats, Tell the Truth, the Belarusian Students’ Network

Note:Arrivals are one day before(27August, Sunday) and departures one day after the program (02 September, Saturday morning).

Main topics to be covered:
youth issues: defining the agenda, possibilities and obstacles
network building with youth and students of the EPP family
cooperation with external partners based on shared interests
effective communication: message development, how to deliver messages
reaching out to supporters
motivating activists
communicating with international media and partners
building effective online presence
Pre-requisites: /
  • Active members of the above political parties and organizations
  • Applicants born between 1987-2000
  • University/college degree (or at least four successfully completed semesters at university / college by the start of the seminar)

  • Copy of diploma or a certificate issued by university/college verifying that by the start of the course
  • 1 letter of reference, signed & printed with official letterheadfrom the delegating party or civil organisation, signed by a responsible official such as a Secretary General, Member of the Board, International Secretary. With this letter the party ensures its delegate will participate in the full length of the course.
  • Scanned passport
Only complete application packages received in time will be considered.
Note: successful applicants must bring all the requested documents to the eventwith signature in ORIGINAL.
Conditions of Participation: / Attendance of every session of the seminar is mandatory as this is essential for efficient team-work and the aims of the event. Participants will have to present a letter from the party leadership guaranteeing participation in full length.

V. Financial Arrangements
Travel costs, the costs of the seminar - including lectures, trainings - as well as costs of full-board and lodging (in double rooms) will be covered by the organisers.
