Charlotte di Vita MBE with Van Gogh Irises miniature enamel teapot

Founder of Trade plus Aid®, Charlotte di Vita MBE, is touring COUNTRY/TOWN until DATE to promote the 2003 Charlotte di Vita CollectionsTM of unique handcrafted miniature enamel teapots. Funds raised from the sale of these ethically-traded collectibles are donated to the Trade plus Aid charitable trust in order to alleviate poverty in some of the world’s poorest communities.

She will be appearing at ADDRESS, TIME AND DATE.

For Charlotte di Vita the sight of a starving child dying in its mother’s arms while they waited for medical assistance in North Ghana was the catalyst for what has become an awe-inspiring fund-raising organisation focused on ethical trade. To date Trade plus Aid® and its trading partners have returned nearly US$5 million to producer communities as payment for their fair trade handicrafts, creating ethical employment in 21 less developed countries in Asia, Africa and South America.

In addition, US$347,200has been raised to create charitable projects to assist 33 disadvantaged communities in 12 countries around the world.

In recognition of these great achievements, just six years after founding her first ethical trading initiative, Charlotte di Vita was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for services to trade plus aid.

The MBE's royal seal of approval is the ultimate accolade for an organisation that has made a difference by setting new precedents and by combining business acumen with ethical practice to generate sustainable income for disadvantaged communities around the world.

"I strongly believe that we can find practical ways to improve the economic conditions of some of the world's poorest communities. By simply working together to share a common vision we can achieve a better life for the developing countries,” commented Charlotte di Vita.

Charlotte di Vita had been no stranger to fundraising, prior to founding Trade plus Aid®, having co-ordinated the first Anglo-Brazilian Conference on the Environment in Brasilia in 1990 for which HRH The Prince of Wales was patron.

Charlotte di Vita, believes that, “Poverty does not exist because there isn't enough money in the world. Poverty exists because there aren't enough people using their moneymaking skills positively.''
