Estate Agents (Fees) Regulations 1996

1.Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to prescribe fees provided for in the Estate Agents Act 1980.

2.Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 99 of the Estate Agents Act 1980.

3.Commencement

These Regulations come into operation on 1 April 1996.

4.Revocation

The [1]Estate Agents (Fees) Regulations 1989 are revoked.

5.Payment of fees

(1)The fees set out in items (a) to (l) in the Schedule must be paid to the Estate Agents Licensing Authority.

(2)The fees set out in items (m) and (n) in the Schedule must be paid to the Estate Agents Disciplinary and Licensing Appeals Tribunal.

1.General Information

The Estate Agents (Fees) Regulations 1996, S.R.No.13/1996 were made on 27 February 1996 by the Governor in Council under section 99 of the Estate Agents Act 1980, No.9428/1980 and came into operation on 1 April 1996: regulation 3.

The Estate Agents (Fees) Regulations 1996 will sunset 10 years after the day of making on 27 February 2006 (see section 5 of the Subordinate Legislation Act 1994).
