Essential Responsibilities:

  • Plan, develop and coordinate programs and services within assigned programs that reflects the needs of communities and adheres to best practice and evidence based models when available.
  • Responsible for the development of program budgets as well as monitoring the monthly financials to ensure the revenue and expenses are in line with budget.
  • Provide leadership and direction to program staff. Participate in selection and evaluation of performance. Serve as trainer, coach and mentor to program staff. Solve problems, deal with crisis situations and mediate conflicts as necessary.
  • Communicate, implement and interpret agency-wide policies and procedures.
  • Understand, implement and comply with licensing regulations.
  • Model effective leadership skills and mentor the growth and development of staff in assigned programs.

Credentials/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) preferably in Human Services (or a closely related field). An Associate’s Degree with three years of full time experience working with people with disabilities may be substituted for a Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of 1 year of work experience in the field of services to people with disabilities.
  • Experience supervising program staff is required.
  • Ability to meet the standards for being a designated coordinator as prescribed by 245D is required.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record check.
  • Must pass a DHS background study.

Work Environment:

The employee in this position typically works in an office setting. The employee will also be exposed to outdoor weather conditions during some agency events and when traveling on company business. The candidate will be expected to work generally Monday through Friday, day hours, but must be flexible to work evenings and weekends as required by the programs.
