Part1

Ladies and gentleman, thank you for having us today. We are team number 2, n here to speak out what happens in our body when we drink alcohol.

Before we get started, let me introduce our members. We have 6 members, I would introduce our actor today. He’s name is Wang Shuai. n we are going to explain some organs which effect by drinking alcohol. Our first organ is Heart,@@ is gonna take heart in the body. N ## is gonna take brain, so he’s gonna tell you how the brain is affected. Next organ is throat, %% is take a role as of throat, telling you how throat works. Finally we have liver, which is most effected organ when we are drinking. $$ will tell you what is gonna happen. N my name is Hyemin, today’s narrator.

Yes, as you may guess our theme, we want to tell what happens when we are drinking, especially in part of our organ. We found out many people, many student drink alcohol without any cautions, some of them don’t know how bad it is for health. So we want to tell you the reason you need to reduce the alcohol drinking. So, lets see together

Part 2

Throat - In vertebrate anatomy, the throat (Latin gula) is the anterior part of the neck, in front of the vertebral column. It consists of the pharynx and larynx. An important feature of the throat is the epiglottis, a flap which separates the esophagus from the trachea and prevents inhalation of food or drink.

The throat contains various blood vessels, various pharyngeal muscles, the trachea (windpipe) and the esophagus. The hyoid bone and the clavicle are the only bones located in the throat of mammals.

Heart -I am heart, the motive power of cyclic system. I’m located in the thoracic cavity and looks like a peach and made up of cardial muscle and include left atrium、right atrium、ventriculus sinister and ventriculus dexter. My function is promote blood flow and provide enough blood to the organs and tissues to supply oxygen and nutruents and take away the product of metastasis.

Brain -

Liver – A liver is involved in most of the functions of a body.It deals with more than five-hundred tasks and produced about one thousand chemical materials, taking roles in biochemical process of human body. Enough oxygen and nutrition is needed for liver to function(work) normally, well.

It is the biggest one among organs in human body, weighing about 1.2~1.5kg. that amounts to 1.5~2.5 part of our whole bodies. Especially when it comes to the case of taking alcohols, though alcohols are mostly absorbed into a stomach but can’t be stored or deposited, a liver which has the substances required to eliminate toxins neutralize the harmful effects of alcohols up to 80~90%. Except that, other materials like 니코틴, 수면제, 모르핀 etc are took care of in a liver in order to protect human body.

Part3

Scene1(The initial stage of drinking alcohols)

(The actor starts to act to express the situation/stage)

(Narrator’s explanations may be added to help audiences understand the event

and she translate the attention to each organ; translation parts are needed)

(Organs start to do their parts in order)

Throat : Today I continuously had dried food and drink so It’s too boring. Wow, but this is unusual tastes.

It’s cool.

Heart: I feel relaxed and comfortable, too. Pretty good condition! Because the alcohol can improve the High-density Lpoprotein cholesterol level 、prevent blood clots and reduce the risk of heart disease、diabetes and stroke and so on. That’s really true!! And..as giving tips for you (looking at throat)- the studies show that the people at the same age, who insist on one drink daily, the mortality rate is lower than the one who don’t drink. So drinking in moderation is benefit to our body.

Liver : Because there is not a big change in biochemical process, I can function normally as usual.

Though a small amount of alcohols enters the body by the pass of throat, it’s okay for me to deal with them. I have enough chemical substance to dismantle them. I’m in pretty good condition. It’s okay

How about you, my friend brain?

Brain : . hey, this is not normal! I feel like i'm turning around myself!! But I'm feeling happy, words are coming out fluently, and also feel like I'm getting more active! I like this situation! ~i am the cerebral cortex, and now with this situation I'm becoming more confident in talking! ~ I'm the cerbellum and i'm feeling more relaxed this time, and the musles I coordinate are like going out of control! I'm the medulla(brain stem) and I’m control body functions that occur automatically, such as the heart rate and breathing, but now that alcohol that came to me is making me start feeling sleepy!

(Narrator simply summarize the scene 1 and it’s better to give her feeling or thoughts for this part)

Scene 2.

(The actor starts to act to express the situation/stage)

(Narrator must explain the situation, matching well with his behavior

and please mention something for translation)

Throat: Definitely, owner, you drank too much, but why am I thirsty? I want to drink pure water. I need to… Give me water…Owner!! Aren’t you hearing my voice????? I feel disgust. What happened to me???

Audience, as you know I have had occasionally severe reactions after consuming alcohol. (Other organs: You are no alone) This has happened after having quite a lot, or very little (a few sips). The reaction has predominantly been a swelling of the throat that has made me fell that I can't breath properly, severe dizziness, nausea and lack of balance. It has happened after drinking wine or beer or both, and a couple of times it appears to have been aggravated by food (and no alcohol). I had one very severe incident where I felt like I was going to suffocate, and the lack of balance lasted for 5 days. It is the reflux esophagitis.

Hey, what is this smoking? Don’t you know that alcohol with tobacco smoking make me endanger? Please stop damaging me…

Brain: Oh- Throat stop, stop.. hear my story. wow, even though I can't control myself anymore, I continue drinking, cuz i'm the brain and I can command to do anything I want. But now, I'm feeling out of this world! -hey, I’m the cerebral cortex, and after words were coming confidently, now words are not coming out appropriatly, I'm talking a lot! - wow, wow, I'm the cerebellum but this drink has made me weak that the nerves and musles I control are not connected to me anymore. -I'm the medulla(brain stem) and I lost the state of consciousness, I don't know where I am; this can be fatal for me if drinking is too much!

Liver : Yes, yes. It’s different from normal conditions. There are so many harmful materials entering the body… I need to produce many more chemicals to break down toxins. It’s hard…Because of alcohols, the ability of breaking down fatty acid have declined. As fat is accumulated, I am getting more and more big;; Oh, you, my owner. If you don’t stop drinking, continuously take alcohols,.. it’s clear that the situation is further worsened. You know.. I don’t have sensitive sense of feeling pain. There may be something very serious, sever. I guess you will find out I’m wrong, or ill.

So please stop drinking!

Heart : Liver, Liver, I feel ill now. Because excessive alcohol intake is toxic to both the heart and overall health. The alcohol can harm cardiac muscle cell membrane directly, as a result, the protection of the membrane disappearing. That may lead to the harm of the cardiac muscular tissue. And the myocardosis will affect the function of the heart. So I can’t work normally.

A lot of clinical data show that the binge drinking is the major factor of cardiac sudden death.

So far away from the binge drinking, it’s really harm your body.

(Narrator’s mentions are needed to end this scene.. like expressing sympathy)

Scene3(The stage of getting back to the normal condition)

(The actor starts to act to express the situation/stage)

(Narrator’s mentions are also needed to introduce this scene and to make clear the expression of actor)

Liver : wow, the body condition is getting better. Actually, I am good at recovering myself, I means I can get back easily to normal condition which performs original tasks successfully. Uhm… to help you understand that.. for example. If a surgeon cut me during the surgical operation, it relatively takes short time for me to regain whole parts. As fatty materials once stored in my host excessively are dissolved, I come to be somewhat light and now I am preparing once again the production of various chemical substances to help detoxify.

Brain: oh.. maybe you have not taken essential role of recovery!!.. that sound like….(Liver: what? No, no.. I just….) I'm feeling so tired, wanna rest for more time than usual. I think it'll take more than three days to recover and turn to my normal actitivities. Now I have the anxiety for drinkin' water and hot soup; it's said that drinking a little more the next day can help you recover best, but I don't wanna know about alcohol anymore! Im done..!

Heart: however, I also feel okay, brain. Why do you feel so tired?.. Now I feel better. Because the liver have decomposed alcohol. And the heart recovering to the normal level

Throat : Whew… I'm OK. I was nearly suffocating. Now that I took a break, I feel much better. But actually I need more time… I’m sleepy.
