ESPAÑOL 3 – UNA GUIA DE ESTUDIO PARA EL EXAMEN FINAL – 2006

Before exam day remove all marks, papers and non-adhesive covering from textbooks. Bring textbooks with you to the exam. They will be checked and collected before the exam. Arrive early to allow time for this.Write your name and number on the exam question packet, scantron card and written section.

The exam consists of two parts. The first part of the exam is multiple choice or true/false and answered on a scantron card. There are 79 questions in this part. The questions cover the gamut of what we studied: culture, vocabulary and vocabulary expressions, verb forms, choosing between the present indicative and the present subjunctive, etc. There are two readings.

Bring at least 2 #2 pencils and a clean eraser. Remember that you must erase clearly or the scantron will mark the answer wrong. This is your responsibility! I do not hand mark any scantron cards because of careless erasures. There are several different sections so read the directions carefully. Do not write on the exam questions in this first section. All answers go on the scantron card.

The second part of the exam is written on the exam question sheet. There are 26 points in this section.(Yes, I know 79 + 26 = 105. There are 5 extra credit points built into the exam). There are completion questions asking for the correct verb form. There is a small paragraph using a si clause and the conditional. Review all your verb tenses especially the present subjunctive. You may use pencil as long as you write clearly and darkly. Clarity is important in the written section. If I can’t read your answer it will be marked wrong. Remember I will be marking many exams and will not have time to try to decipher unclear letters.

The exam covers all the material for the year with emphasis on chapters 5 through 9 of Ven conmigo Level 3.

  1. Review all the “así se dice”, “Gramática”, “Nota Gramatical”, “A lo nuestro”, “Encuentro cultural”, “También se dice”, “Nota Cultural” y “Vocabulario” boxes in each chapter.

2. Review the “Más práctica gramatical” sections at the end of each chapter.

3. Review the “Vocabulario” sections at the end of each chapter.

4. There are practice exercises on line at Look in your textbook for the keywords for each chapter.

5. Glance over your workbook exercises.

6. In the back of the text book there is a reference section which include a Grammary Summary.

This will give you a concise review of the grammar concepts and the verb forms that we studied.

The other summaries should be helpful also.

Study well. Get a good night’s sleep. Don’t forget your textbook, #2 pencils and eraser. Remember to write your name and number on the scantron questions section, the scantron card and the written section of the exam. All three sections must be turned in at the end of the exam. If any part is missing you will fail the exam. If your name and number are not on all three sections you will lose 5 points for each section without a name or number.

BUENA SUERTE Y BUENAS VACACIONES!
