Classroom Rules, Procedures, Consequences, and Grading Policy:
- All school rules apply in this classroom.
- Be on time and prepared for class. This includes bringing a pen, notebook, folder, and homework that is due.
- Use RESPECT and COURTESY for yourself and others in this class. No name calling or talking when someone else is… especially the teacher.
- Leave all inappropriate materials out of the class.DO NOT LET CELL PHONES DISRUPT LEARNING.
- Cheating is a serious matter, if you are found cheating you will fail the quiz, test, or assignment that you are cheating on and you will receive a phone call home as well as detention.
Classroom Procedure:
- Upon entering the classroom hand in homework that is due to the “homework hotspot”, get out your journal, and immediately take your assigned seat and start the warm-up activity that is on the board.
- Each day there will be a schedule on the board along which will include class work, homework, and activities.
- If you are absent from class for any reason you are responsible for all work, notes, and assignments you missed. If you are absent the day before a test you will still be expected to take the test with the rest of the class. If you are absent the day of the test you will be expected to make up the test the day you return to class.
- All work handed in must have on it your name, period, date, and question assigned.
- Remain seated until the bell rings at the end of the period.

All assignments must have the following at the top of paper:

Assignment Description: Homework, Class work, Extra Credit, Textbook Pages and Numbers Assigned
- Homework
- Homework will be posted on the board each day.
- It is your responsibility to check the board each day for homework and complete for class the next day.
- Homework will be checked everyday at the beginning of class.
- We will go over homework every day to make sure you have the correct answers.
- Homework must be done at home, not during class. If you do your homework during class you will not receive credit for it.
- Class work
- Class work will be posted on the board each day
- All class work must be handed in at the end of the class period in order for you to receive credit for the day, unless otherwise stated.
- Late Work
- All assignments must be turned in on the day it is due.
- If you were absent, you must put that on the top of the page so you will get full credit.
- If any assignment is late you will receive partial credit
- All assignments must be complete before cut-off date
- Journal
- Journals are used for “Do Now’s” at the beginning of class
- Journals are also used for reflection time at the end of class when assigned
- Extra Credit
- Extra Credit will not be given all of the time
- It will be given at different times throughout the year
- Each extra credit assignment will be worth different amounts, i.e. a quiz grade or homework grade
- Do not count on extra credit to bring your grade up
- No student will be given extra credit as a request to prevent themselves from failing
*Due dates for extra credit will not be extended, if you are absent when an extra credit assignment is due it will not count unless you get it to me on time.
Absences:
- If you are absent when an assignment is due you must hand it in to me as soon as you get to class to receive 100%.
- If you are absent when an assignment is given, you have until the next class period to get it to me, otherwise it will be late.
- You must see me to schedule a time for extra help and to make up any work, quizzes, or tests missed within a week. If you do not schedule an appointment you will be given a zero for everything that was required when you were absent.
Consequences:
- Mild infraction: A warning will be given.
- Moderate infraction: Before or after school detention with the teacher or a phone call to the parents.
- Extensive infraction: A visit to the principal’s office or in school parent conference.
