CLASES
AGE GROUPS:6 –12; and 13 – 21
FUTURE ACTING CLASES
In this class you will learn basic skills and acting techniques while also gaining an understanding of the “Behind the Scenes” experience. During this process, students will also explore various forms of theatre. It is our hope to design these classes to help uncover the creative mind in you and to help motivate your imagination. Depending on the topic being covered students will also gain an understanding of the ‘Behind the Scenes’ experience. This class is offered to ages 13 and up.
DANCE
Classical Ballet
Ballet is a beautiful style of dance and is enjoyed by many people around the world. Classical Ballet is very popular, with its technique being a great foundation for many other styles of dance and movement. Capturing the imaginations of young and old, Classical Ballet is well loved by those who perform it and those who delight in watching it.
This class is offered to all ages: Please see Timetable 2009 for days and hours.
Contemporary
Contemporary is modern dance and it’s a style which is constantly being updated.This is only offered to ages 15 and up.
Hip Hop & Stomp
This style of dance is an urban dance style and is only offered to ages 13 – 21.
Flag Dance
This will be offered in our SUMMER PROGRAM.
We currently do not offer Jazz nor Tap dance, but we hope to in the future
PRIVATE DANCE LESSONS
If you would like some private one to one lesson, please talk to your teacher before or after a class session to see if they have any availability for a onetoone basis.
We currently do not offer PHOTOGRAPHY, but we hope to in the future.
You will need- an SLR camera which may be Analog or Digital (if Analog, scanner will be required for digitizing of photos)
OR- a Prosumer type camera that can give manual control of shutter-speed, ISO-rating, aperture and focus
PLUS- A notebook (the old-fashioned kind!) brought each week with camera
- Access to a computer with image processing software such as Photoshop, Adobe Photoshop Elements or equivalent
- Internet access
Additional Costs: Any additional cost will be discussed with you before or after class or by appointment. This will be offered to theYouth, Senior and Adults.
ZUMBA CLASES (Special Exercise Classes)
It’s Latin International dance fitness.
We currently do not offer VISUAL ARTS, but also hope to in the future. This will be a group class and will be offered to the Youth, Senior and Adults.
VOCALS, not offered yet, but will be coming soon.
In these classes, you will be taught how to warm up your voice and sing your favourite songs. These are offered to the following age groups: Youth, Seniors, and Adults.

Your uniforms are available to order directly from our Arts Ministry. We will need you to be wearing your uniforms to and from classes, rehearsals and performances unless otherwise stated as we are very proud of all our students.
DRESS STANDARD
Please ensure you are always neatly and modestly presented when coming to and from your classroom, especially in public places.
ZUMBA (Will be given in the near future)
You will need to wear loose fitting/comfortable exercise clothes and bring an exercise mat, extra towel and bottle of water.
PRE-LOVED DANCE WEAR
You can buy and sell your pre-loved dancewear and shoes. Please contact Lorena Escobar at: 781-893-8187.
COSTUMES
Costumes are NOT included in your term fees, so please budget between $50 - $70 each. Your teacher will be organizing the designs, so please hand your payment directly to him/her when requested.
EXCURSIONS
We endeavour to organise group performance bookings and excursions appropriate to each art form throughout the year. Although our excursions will be targeted to specific students, all students, families and friends are welcome to join us.
Please understand we do not provide supervision at excursions, therefore our younger students will require parental attendance. The cost of the excursion will be met by the students. We will inform you of costs involved and details of the excursion via through email or posted bulletins in our lobby area.
PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES
ANNUAL PRODUCTION
Our major production is held during Term 3 and is always a highlight of our year as all our students have the opportunity to perform in a professional environment.
We hold additional rehearsals to prepare our students including a Saturday and some weekday times. These dates and times will be advised.
Cost:
Adult $10, Child $5, Family Tickets $40. We do not allow video recording or photography during the show. However, we offer professional DVD and photographs for sale through our multimedia ministry. Please call 781-893-8187 to place your order today..
DRAMA PRESENTATION NIGHT AND MUSIC & VOCAL RECITAL
These are informal events, organized and run by the students and their teachers.
ABSENCES
If a student misses too many classes and/or rehearsals, they may have to be excluded from performancesfor their work will not be to the same level of the other participating students.
HAIR AND MAKEUP FOR PERFORMANCES
Hair
Teachers will advise you of appropriate hair styles for each performance.
Make-Up
Make-up MUST be done before you arrive for your call time and should be worn darker than normal. Unless something specific is required, make up for girls will include:
Foundation, Blush, Brown eye shadow (on eyelid), White highlight eye shadow (under the eyebrows, above the eyebrow ridge), Brown/Black eyebrow pencil, Black liquid eyeliner, Black mascara, Red lipstick, Optional glitter for cheeks/hair. Boys will also require some basic makeup - teachers will advise.

What is a Semester? The semester is composed of 10 Classes.
Note: We will follow the WalthamPublic School cancellations including December, February, and April vacations. The dance school will also close during Thanksgiving and Memorial Day breaks. Dance class will be held on half day.
NEW ENROLMENT INFORMATION 2009
In order to facilitate the planning of classes and teaching staff for the ensuing year it is imperative that we have reasonably clear commitment from students wanting to enrol in 2009 classes.
To this end, there will be specific enrolment periods and no late enrolments will be accepted after the closing dates.
Payment for the coming term will be required at the time of enrolment for new students or during the enrolment period for continuing students. Non-payment at that time will result in cancellation of enrolment.
Enrolment Periods:
August 2nd2009 Workshop from 1 – 4 p.m.
August 22nd2009 Enrolments Begins
September 13th2009 Enrolments Closes
The option of starting or discontinuing class will not be available. Should you wish to discontinue class, please notify this ministry and it will take effect immediately. Please note, No refunds will be applied in the event of students not completing their class period.
Further Enrolment Policies
Absences:
No refunds will be given for absences for any class (group or private lesson). This includes sickness and holidays taken during term. We will follow the WalthamPublic School cancellations including December, February and April vacations. The dance school will also close during Thanksgiving and Memorial Day breaks. Dance class will be held on half days.
Cancelled Classes:
If your class is cancelled, for example due to bad weather, an email will be sent to you and we will deduct the class fee from the following term’s fees or we will schedule a makeup class. If you are not returning in the next term, we will gladly refund the money.
Errors:
No system is perfect. If we make a mistake…. We will appreciate you letting us know.

HOMEWORK & EXAMS
Students taking any graded classes may have the opportunity to do homework and exams. Please discuss your involvement with your teacher.
Cost:
Currently there is no Examination fee.
AWARDS NIGHT AND CELEBRATION
We will celebrate with our Awards Night and Celebration! Please dress formal to semi-formal and get ready to have a fun night together after all the hard work during the course of the year. 2 students will receive trophies: One in the category of Outstanding Achievement, and the other will receive the Most Improved Award. We will also be giving awards in many other categories.
However, every student who had enrolled and completed their school year will receive a certificate of completion. We also ask the parents of students to contribute a plate of food for this special event.
