EOI: Help The Clubhouse, Join Our Steering Committee

To Whom It May Concern,

The Youth Connections Clubhouse is seeking expressions of interest to join our Steering Committee, meeting once a month at The Clubhouse. Over the coming we are aiming to form our circle and provide orientation to the program, learning model and our future objectives.

Our first meeting will be held on Wednesday December 14th 2.30 – 3.30 pm at The Clubhouse.

(152 Keen St, Ground Floor of the Northern Rivers Conservatorium)

Future dates to be advised in the New Year of 2017.

We’re seeking people with a passion and commitment in supporting young people in the following areas, as well as those who may have the relevant skills in; Youth Development, Fundraising, Human Resourcing, Community Engagement, Technological & Creative Industries, STEAM subjects: Science – Technology – Engineering – Arts - Music & Math, IT Networking & Administration, Marketing, Career Guidance, Project Management, and Grant Writing.

If you are interested, please contact me directly to arrange a time to drop by The Clubhouse one afternoon 3 – 6pm to discuss the program and how we could utilise your knowledge and skills.

In 2017 we plan to increase the innovation and learning opportunities for young people in our community and I welcome any support and ideas you may have to help us build upon our current successes. To read some of these, please see the following page.

●Attended Teen Summit 2016 in Boston USA

●The Clubhouse features in the Network’s first published book “Start Making! A Guide to Engaging Young People in Maker Activities.” April 2016.

●Outstanding results from findings of the 2015 Youth Impact Survey that describe our delivery and performance of Clubhouse activities. April 2016.

Awarded 5 Youth Scholarships to the value of $1,200 for Clubhouse Members to attend SAE’s Byron Campus Summer Shorts Program. January 2016.

●Awarded $8,500 from Lismore City Council Club Grants for The Clubhouse to run Outreach Activities in Goonellabah in partnership with the YWCA. January 2016.

●Clubhouse Members received the Encouragement Award for creativity, collaboration and concept as well as winning 2nd place in the skate section for their submission into theNimbin Youth Film Competition. November 2015.

●Awarded $8,500 from the Australia Post Our Neighbourhood Community Grants for hardware and software technology for Clubhouse activities. November 2016.

●The Clubhouse was recognised across Asia Pacific for contributing the most Youth Impact Surveys to the Clubhouse Network. In the spirit of competition between eleven other clubhouses from India, Philippines, Taiwan and New Zealand, The Clubhouse won the incentive prize of a Leap Motion Controller.

Lismore Regional Art Gallery prints and hosts the G'Click photographic exhibition of Goonellabah through the lens of young Clubhouse photographers. July 2015.

●Approached by Autism Spectrum Australia’s our Clubhouse Members directed, Produced, composed, and animated a splash film for the launch of Autism Awareness Month at the Byron Bay Surf Life Saving Club. April 2015.

●Received $3,000 for six Wacom Graphic Tablets from the Northern Rivers Community Foundation. March 2015.

Awarded a $6,000 Intel Start Making Grant to kick-start technology workshops for young people. February 2015.
