Course Settings

Guest Access

If you want people who are not enrolled in your course to view it, you can make all or part of it accessible to guests. You can also control which content areas your guests can view. Be aware that guests can ONLY access content areas.

1.  From the Control Panel, click on SETTINGS under Course Options. A new page appears.

2.  Click on GUEST ACCESS and a new page appears.

3.  Select YES to make the course available to guests then click SUBMIT.

4.  To control which areas guests can see, follow the steps under Course Menu (see A above).

5.  From the Control Panel, click on MANAGE TOOLS under Course Options. A new page appears. Select the Guest checkbox for Content Areas.

6.  Click SUBMIT.

7.  Click on MANAGE COURSE MENU under Course Options. A new page appears.

8.  Click MODIFY next to the menu item to which you want to allow guest access. A new page appears.

9.  Check the box next to Allow guest access: to allow guest access to this content area of the course.

10.  Click SUBMIT.

Set Course Entry Point

You course will open to the Announcements page by default. However, you can change the initial page your students see.

1.  From the Control Panel, click on SETTINGS under Course Options. A new page appears.

2.  Click SET COURSE ENTRY POINT and a new page appears.

3.  Select the page you want your students to see when they enter your course from the drop-down menu then click SUBMIT. The selected page will now be the initial page.

Course Menu Design

You can choose to use text or buttons for your course menu. If you choose text, you can choose the background and text colors. If you choose buttons, you can choose the shape and color of the buttons.

1.  From the Control Panel, click on SETTINGS under Course Options. A new page appears.

2.  Click COURSE DESIGN and a new page appears. Click COURSE DESIGN again in the new page.

3.  Choose the BUTTONS radio button and the page will refresh.

4.  Choose the style of your buttons from the Button Type: drop-down menu.

5.  Choose the shape and color of the buttons under Select Style Properties.

6.  Click SUBMIT.

Add a Banner to the Announcements

You can add a JPEG or GIF image as a banner to your announcements page.

1.  From the Control Panel, click on SETTINGS under Course Options. A new page appears.

2.  Click COURSE DESIGN and a new page appears. Click COURSE BANNER. A new page appears.

3.  Click BROWSE and navigate to the location of the image file. Select the file and click OPEN.

4.  Click SUBMIT.
