Arts Brookfield and Rooftop Films present fifth annual Rooftop Films screenings featuring Animation Block Party, The Best of New York Nonfiction and In Pursuit of Silence

New York, NY July 12, 2016– Arts Brookfield and Rooftop Films team up for the fifth summer at Brookfield Place to present three special nights of free independent film screenings along the Hudson River waterfront. From Thursday, July 28 to Saturday, July 30, 2016, doors open at 6:30 p.m.The evening kicks off withlive music performances at 7:30 p.m. followed by the film screening at 8:30 p.m.

Back by popular demand, Animation Block Partyon Thursday, July 28 allows the audience to experience a taste of this year’s best animated short films. Friday, July 29 celebrates The Best of New York Nonfiction, a collective of documentary shorts shown throughout the 20-year history of Rooftop Films that remind us that New York is a city full of opinionated walkers, bike messengers, bike thieves, Shakespearian birds, and street furniture—and we like it that way.In Pursuit of Silenceon Saturday, July 30 rounds out the series, exploringthe intrusion of noise on humankind. Audience members will experience the film with headphones provided. In lieu of live music, July 30th kicks off with a guided meditation.
