Choice of movie & Grouping / No of Ss per group: 3-5
Ss should follow the Text Selection Criteria in the SBA handouts.
The movie chosen must be different from the one selected for IP assessment in S.4 / S.5.
The choice of movie & the group list should be submitted to your T by 11 July 2011 (Mon).
Journal / Ss should follow the format of the journal (Non-print Fiction) shown on the Homepage of the English Panel

Ss may request another topic if it is too irrelevant to the movie.
Source of Qs: Journal – normally more than 2-3 areas will be covered
Ss take the note-card (& movie poster)for discussion.
T will ask Ss questions if the discussion is shorter than the time suggested in Item A.
Ss’ presentations will be video-recorded.

/ Other instructions / Ss should be familiar with the assessment criteria shown on the SBA handouts.
Normally each discussion topic consists of 2 parts – the 1st part requires Ss to give their own opinions, and in the 2nd part, the whole group has to make a decision. So make sure the discussion time is managed well to cover BOTH parts.
Ss should focus on interacting with the group members but not presenting their ideas on the note-cards in too much detail.
Ss should start to round off when 20 sec is left.
Ss found reading excessively from their notes or over-rehearsing will be disqualified.
T will ask any questions if necessary to prompt the weaker candidates to speak.

Areas to be covered:

1)3 good / bad things about the movie ( memorable quotes, story, technical aspects of the film, etc. )

2)Favourite character(s)

3)Personalities / Strengths / Weaknesses of the characters

4)Things learnt from the characters / story

5)Climax / Most interesting/ shocking/ impressive scene/event

6)Plot / Ending – Good or not? How to improve?

7)Technical aspects of the movie (Acting, Directing, Editing, Costume, Make-up Design, Set design, Cinematography, Visual effects, Action choreography, Music and songs, Sound effects )

8)Reasons for recommending / not recommending the film to others
