  • Know the biography of Ambrose Bierce and what he was known for, where he worked, nickname, etc…
  • In the story “An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge,” know who the man is who is sentenced to die and the reasons why.
  • Make sure you understand the sequence of events, which lead to his imaginary escape.
  • What is the truth about what really happened to the man?
  • How does this story and Bierce’s writing represent realism?
