English 10—1st Quarter Project

You will complete an end of the quarter project for English 10 Honors. The project will be based on H.G. Wells’s War of the Worlds. You may do any of the following projects, but you must put forth a substantial amount of effort. The project will count for 200 points and is due March 8, 2012

1.  Create and perform (either in class or on video) a creative adaptation of a scene from The War of the Worlds.

2.  Create and perform an original song about The War of the Worlds.

3.  Create and present a PowerPoint that details the events surrounding the Orson Welles radio broadcast scandal and its impact on the future of media (minimum of 15 slides).

4.  Create a musical and/or video montage for The War of the Worlds.

5.  Create an original and detailed piece of artwork that conveys the essence of The War of the Worlds.

6.  Pair up with a classmate and create a talk show based on The War of the Worlds.

7.  Using a copy of a map of England, mark the places in the novel and what happened there. The map needs to be at least 2’x3’ in size.

8.  You may come up with your own idea for a project, but you must have it approved by me.
