ENGINE OIL AND FILTER REPLACEMENT
1. / Run the engine until it reaches normal operating temperature.
2. / Turn off the engine.
3. / Remove the oil filler cap and the drain plug. Drain the engine oil.
4. / Tighten the drain plug (A) to the specified torque.
Tightening torque
Oil pan drain plug :
35 ~ 45N.m (3.5 ~ 4.5kgf.m, 25 ~ 33Ib-ft)

Whenever tightening the oil drain plug, use a new drain plug gasket.
5. / Fill new engine oil through the oil filler cap opening.
Capacity :
Total : 7.8L (8.24 US qt, 6.86 lmp qt)
Oil pan : 6.6L (6.97 US qt, 5.81 lmp qt)
Drain and refill including oil filter :
7.4L(7.82 US qt, 6.51 lmp qt)

Do not overfill. This will cause oil aeration and loss of oil pressure.
6. / Install the oil filler cap.
7. / Start and run the engine.
8. / Turn off the engine and then check the oil level. Add oil if necessary.

Oil Filter

1. / Use a filter wrench to remove the oil filter.
2. / Before installing the new oil filter on the engine, apply clean engine oil of the surface of the rubber gasket.
3. / Tighten the oil filter (A) of the specified torque.
Oil filter :
21.6 ~ 24.5N.m (2.2 ~ 2.5kgf.m, 15.9 ~ 18.1lb-ft)

4. / Start and run the engine and check for engine oil leaks.
5. / After stopping the engine, check the oil level and add oil as necessary.

Selection Of Engine Oil

ACEA classification : C3 (with DPF), B4 (without DPF)

SAE viscosity grades : Refer to the recommended SAE viscosity number

*1 Restricted by driving condition and environment.

Not recommended for sustained high speed vehicle operation.

For best performance and maximum protection of all types of operation, select only those lubricants which :
1) / Satisfy the requirement of the ACEA classification.
2) / Have proper SAE grade number for expected ambient temperature range.
• / Lubricants that do not have both an SAE grade number and ACEA service classification on the container should not be used.
• / The ACEA certified engine oil is required as a service engine oil. Only in case that ACEA certified engine oil is not available, the API certified engine oil (API CH-4 or above) is allowed restrictively.
• / For the vehicle equipped with DPF, the service engine oil quality should meet the ACEA C3 grade. However, oil refill with small amount of ACEA B4 grade between oil change intervals is possible.
INSPECTION
1. / Position a vehicle on a level surface.
2. / Turn off the engine.

If a vehicle that has not been used for a prolonged period, run the engine for several minutes.
Turn off the engine and wait for 5 minutes at least, and then check the oil level.
3. / Check that the engine oil level is within the level range indicated on the oil dipstick. If the oil level is found to have fallen to the lower limit (the "L" mark), refill to the "F" mark.
4. / Check that the oil is not dirty or mixed with coolant or gasoline and it has the proper viscosity.
