Engaged Citizen Corps students are expected to work on projects that help your organization build capacity while enhancing economic and community development. Examples of capacity building activities include recruiting and training volunteers, developing new programs or events, managing web and social media content, developing newsletters and marketing materials, conducting research, collecting data, and much more. Priority will be given to agencies working on issues in the Drake neighborhood. Please briefly describe how an ECC student will create capacity for your organization and the types of projects an ECC student may engage in at your site. (Due to being in the AmeriCorps program, ECC students may NOT do work that is religious or political in nature, or spend the majority of their time doing fundraising, direct service, or administrative tasks).

Supervision
Partner agencies are required to identify a site supervisor who will oversee the day-to-day management of the student. Supervisors must be able to meet with the student weekly and devote no less than 2 hours per week to the student.

Supervisor Name / Title
Phone / Email

Please describe the supervisor's experience in managing volunteers and/or other staff members.

Please describe your organization's ability to provide the student with sufficient support and identify a meaningful role
within your organization. What will your supervision structure look like? How will the ECC student be integrated into the staff?

Commitment to student learning
Partner agencies will host an Engaged Citizen Corps student who will serve approximately 300 hours over the course of the academic year September-May, equivalent to roughly 8 hours a week on site.
During the summer months site supervisors and Engaged Citizen Corps faculty will be invited to workshop and further plan for the integration of the service projects and coursework. In order to ensure community voice within the design of our program, it is expected that each partner agency send one representative to the workshop. In addition, site supervisors will be invited to several classes throughout the year; dates will be announced at a later time.

Is your organization able to commit to participating in the workshop and classroom activities?

Cost Share
Selected partner agencies will pay a non-refundable cost share of $1,750 by June 15, 2017 to host one Engaged Citizen Corps student, an estimated value of $6,900 in human and financial resources. The cost share will be used to support the student’s living stipend toward room and board. Agencies are allowed to host more than one student.

How many ECC students is your organization requesting?
Is your organization partnering with other agencies or businesses to pay the cost-share?
If so, please list:
Is it necessary for the student to have a personal vehicle for this project?
