Energize Your Workout

Take the Challenge

Whether you are new to exercise, or you have lost your dedication to your exercise program, it’s time to refocus on yourself to improve your physique and your fitness. An emerging trend is to integrate ingredients from athletes’ sport-oriented workouts so you exercise not just to look good, but to regain the physicality to embrace a more exciting lifestyle! If you are looking to ward off stress, get in shape for weekend pursuits with friends and put some buzz in your social life, there is no workout more energizing than sport conditioning.

Not Consistent?

Research shows us that the majority of young Canadians know that they should exercise more and that to truly get the fitness and physical changes they aspire to achieve, a consistent exercise plan is critical. So what is holding you back?

  • Time – we all have 24 hrs in a day and 7 days in a week. The issue is not time, but how we choose to spend our time. After other life commitments, most of us have about 2 hours of leisure time each day – how are you spending yours? Active or screen time?
  • Priority – for the consistent exerciser, looking great, being fit and accessing a regular workout has a high priority because of the positive physical and psychological impact. Exercise is not negotiable; like brushing your teeth and taking a shower, it must be part of the daily schedule. Check your priorities, is it “optional” to workout today? It moves from optional to a standard lifestyle activity once you find an exercise style you enjoy, which produces not only appearance benefits but gives you movement confidence and indeed, makes you feel great in all regards! Then it becomes a must-do so you can more often feel on top of your game.
  • Enjoyment – grab some friends, have some fun and engage in some intense “play”, not the grind of a routine. Adopt a workout that fuels your spirit, not just a forced effort that you struggle to complete. Sport conditioning in of itself has elements of playful movement so participants find it more enjoyable. The results to the body also set you up to do well in other activities you can now enjoy more.
  • Results – avoid the struggle to achieve your goals, by engaging in an exciting workout that can be completed with minimum time and maximum impact to create the momentum toward positive change.

Real Life Fitness

Remember that kid that used to love PE class, different sports, games with friends and school activities? The excitement of competing and challenging yourself to try new activities combined with the physical confidence to succeed is the essence of the athlete inside. Whether you are an avid runner, golfer, snowboarder, trail rider, cyclist or weekend warrior, the best approach to training your body is to embrace a more athletic training style. Athletes of all ages and abilities can gain a competitive edge with sport conditioning to improve their physical and psychological tools. As kids, there is joy in movement. Recapture the joy when you learn how to once again make your body move well, be mobile and pain free.

The nature of life, leisure, recreation and sport requires that an athlete has efficient movement skills that can be applied in multiple directions with whole body coordination, speed and power along with agility all within an environment of organized chaos. The focus is on engaging your competitive spirit that continually stimulates the mind to muscle connections while performing complex exercises that require multiple joints to work together in various ranges of motion. Each skill, drill, exercise and workout is designed to stimulate positive physical change while simultaneously requiring full intellectual engagement. You have to be present in the moment to coordinate the exercise, as the mind commands the muscles. This trains your software (brain and nervous system) in addition to your hard drive (muscles, heart, lungs). A bigger more powerful hard drive is only useful with smart software. Sport conditioning builds Smart Muscle™.

Smart Muscle™ Training

Today’s lifestyle is all about “work hard – play hard”. Training like a professional athlete has great synergy to being an elite performer in life and in business. Traditional aerobic and machine based strength training builds an aesthetically pleasing physique, but exercising to live a full life must go beyond the primary fitness characteristics of aerobic endurance, body building influenced strength workouts, flexibility and body composition. For Smart Muscle™, look to the secondary components of fitness by adding agility, deceleration, body control, quickness, proficient movement skills, balance and reaction skills so as an active adult you gain whole body coordinated strength and highly responsive muscles that comply to the brain’s commands.
