Installing the 3M Cloud Library App
on a Kindle Fire(HD)
Use these instructions to download and install the 3M Cloud Library app on your Kindle Fire. The Kindle app will NOT notify you of system updates. To get the latest version, uninstall and reinstall the app using the instructions below.
Overview of tasks.
Here are the steps to complete to download and install the 3M Cloud Library app.
  1. Enable support on your Kindle for apps from “unknown sources.”
  2. Download and install the 3M Cloud Library app.
Note: Please follow these steps carefully. The installation is not difficult, but it does require that you complete steps in
the order listed.
Task 1: Enable unknown 3rd party app support on your Kindle.
Complete this task only if you haven't already enabled your Kindle for apps from “unknown sources.”
  1. Swipe down from the top of the screen to expose
    the settings menu.
  2. Tap More.
  3. Tap Device.
  4. Turn on Allow Installation of Applications From unknown sources.
  5. At the warning message, tap OK.
  6. Tap the home screen icon to return home.
Task 2: Download and install the 3M™ Cloud Library app
  1. From the Kindle home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Select your browser from the list of applications.
  3. Enter Slideme.org in the browser address bar.
  4. When the SlideMe home page opens, swipe to expose menu items.
  5. Tap the Register button.
  6. Tap the Create new account button.
  7. Fill in all required registration fields.
    Be very careful entering the email address field,
    which SlideMe uses to send you a password.
  8. When you have entered all required fields, tap
    Create new account.
  9. Open the email SlideMe sent and record your password.
  10. Return to the SlideMe home page and swipe to expose the menu with the Log in button.
  11. Tap the Log in button from the menu.
  12. Enter your new user name and password and then tap Log in.
  13. Swipe again to expose the Application search box.
  14. Type “3M Cloud” in the search box and tap Search.
  15. Tap the 3M Cloud Library icon.
  16. Tap the Download button.
  17. Respond OK to the Download File prompt.
  18. When the Download Complete message appears, tap the icon in the browser's top, left corner.
  19. Tap Downloads from the Web Content menu.
  20. Tap the down arrow for the 3M Cloud Library app.
  21. At the Do you want to install this application prompt, tap the Install button at the bottom of the Kindle screen.
  22. When the application installed message appears, tap the Open button at the bottom of the screen.
  23. Read the SlideMe Application End User Agreement and then tap OK.
  24. Again, at the Do you want to install this application prompt, tap the Install button at the bottom of the screen.
  25. When the 3M Cloud Library welcome app appears, tap the Launch button.
  26. Tap the Connect to your library button.
  27. Select your country (CA or US) and tap the Next button.
  28. Select your state or province and then tap Next.
  29. Select your library and then tap Next.
  30. Enter your library credentials and agree to the End User License Agreement, Terms of Use, and Privacy Policy.
Installation is complete. You are ready to use the 3M Cloud Library.
