  1. PROCEDURE:
  1. EMS Supply Locker
  1. Each station will maintain a standard minimum inventory of EMS supplies. This inventory will be listed under the LVF/R Forms icon on the desktop feature of stations computers. The Central Stores order number and the minimum required quantity are listed on the form.
  1. When supplies used for patients transported by private ambulances are not recovered from the private ambulance on scene, LVF/R companies are to make every reasonable effort to restock from another private ambulance of the same company or to obtain the used supplies from the headquarters supply unit of the private ambulance company. (Be sure to refer to the ambulance co. incident number so that LVF/R won’t be charged for the items.)
  1. EMS supplies shall be inventoried and orders placed to appropriately restock the station supply lockers on Tuesday of each week.
  1. The preferred manner of dealing with EMS supplies that have an expiration date is to let them expire and use the normal ordering procedure to re-supply your EMS Supply Locker. An exception to this rule is the Schedule 2 medications. Refer to S.O.P. 500.35 for the correct methods of dealing with those items.
