TimeBank is a national volunteering charity. We run volunteering projects which are designed to tackle social issues, from social exclusion to digital inclusion. We know the difference volunteers can make and are constantly expanding our tried and tested volunteer mentor model. In addition we run employee volunteering programmes for corporates to support their staff to volunteer in their local communities.

Purpose of the role

To coordinate and administer the delivery of all our employee volunteering throughout 2018. To launch the Christmas campaign in the autumn, and lead delivery of our ‘Christmas Party volunteering’. This role involves providing support to employee volunteers and the local charities they give time to. You will be inspiring, guiding and informing volunteers by email and phone. This could be their first volunteering experience and we need you to help them have a positive encounter with volunteering, sustain their interest and help them to make a real difference to their communities. You will become a vital part of TimeBank’s high quality, end-to-end volunteer journey.

Key responsibilities

  1. Provide day-to-day phone and e-mail responses to people requesting information about employee volunteering
  2. Source volunteering opportunities which should be impactful in spite of a short term intervention (usually a day or half day)
  3. Develop and maintain relationships with local and national charities and community organisations that provide opportunities for employees, offering support and ensuring quality volunteering opportunities are provided
  4. Organise and coordinate group volunteering for employees
  5. Maintain and update a database of volunteering opportunities andcommunity organisations
  6. Provide comprehensive briefing documents for volunteers and community partners in advance of volunteering days, and be present on the day to support volunteers
  7. Develop and maintain relationships with relevant corporate clients
  8. Work alongside TimeBank’s Fundraising and Business Development Coordinator to develop our offering to clients, with a focus on creating longer term programmes of volunteering, and to proactively sell the service to new clients
  9. Work closely with TimeBank’s Communications Manager to promote employee volunteering and increase interest and take up from companies
  10. Follow TimeBank’s policies and procedures. This includes undertaking all duties in a way that values others, does not discriminate and promotes equality.
  11. Undertake any other duties as may be required from time to time.
