Employee of the Quarter Nomination and Award Guidelines

EMPLOYEE OF THE QUARTER NOMINATION AND AWARD GUIDELINES

  • The term “Employee” refers to all personnel including APF and NAF employees. The term “Manager” will refer to all Supervisors, Managers and Directors.
  • For the purpose of this program, the branches are: Business Operations (Retail and Java), Semper Fit, Marine and Family Services, and Support.
  • Employees will be classified as Manager or Non-Manager, as well as Retail and Non-Retail for both categories. Employees that fall under these classifications will be rated under the same group for Employee of the Quarter (EOQ). The employee under each category that rates the highest overall score will be recognized at the EOQ Ceremony.
  • Each program will identify employees that meet criteria for nomination outlined in this document. A nomination form is provided in this enclosure for submission.
  • Directors, Managers and Supervisors will submit their summary of an employee who goes above and beyond their regular duties or completes an exceptional task by illustrating how they are Accountable, Bold and Connected (ABC) to the MCCS Brand.
  • The employee nominated for EOQ must have also been employed with MCCS for the entire quarter.
  • For nomination submissions by the manager they need to compose a narrative write up of the employee’s significant achievements that warrants being awarded as EOQ. Additionally, they must signify how they have met being Accountable, Bold or Connect with the MCCS Brand.
  • After receiving the nominations the HR/administrative officer will forward them to NF-4, or equivalent or higher grade mangers to rate the nominees. Once complete the HR/AO will then tabulate the results of the ratings and forward them to the director for approval.
  • Employees will be rated in categories of Retail Manager, Retail Non-Manager, Manager and Non-Manager. This means that nominations for Managers (those that supervise employees) and non-managers (those that do not have employees) will be rated separately.
  • The panel will rate the employees on the narrative provided, rating them in order of highest to lowest. The employee with the lowest (highest rated) total will be the recipient of the overall award.
  • An award will be awarded to both Manager and Non-Manager winners for Retail and Non-Retail.
  • Once approved by the Director the HR office will prepare the award for the employee and requesting monetary awards with the Payroll office.
  • The recipients will receive the following:
  • Employee of the Quarter for Henderson Hall MCCS

  • Letter of Appreciation with Manager’s narrative included.
