JOB SUMMARY:
The Human Resources Director plans, organizes, and directs all aspects of the human resources function of the hospital for the employment, compensation and benefits, employee relations and training of all employees.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, and 5 years or more of Human
Resources experience, including supervisory background.
Preferred: Master’s Degree
EXPERIENCE
Required: Five years or more of Human Resources management and supervisory experience.
Preferred: Experience is in a hospital setting.
Special Skills and Abilities:
Required: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Skilled attention to detail and excellent
analytical skills.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Job Specific:
1.  Displays a polite, considerate and professional manner, indicating concern and interest with patients, visitors, employees and peers.
2.  Develop, reviews, complies with and enforces hospital and department policies and procedures.
3.  Determines the quantity, qualifications, and competency of department personnel required to provide patient care delivery.
4.  Determines the resources (equipment, supplies, space, etc.) necessary to carry out the functions of the department.
5.  Assists in the preparation of the department’s operating and capital budgets, and manages the operations of the department within the APPROVED budget.
6.  Assures that HR department employees attend the orientation program as scheduled at the beginning of employment, provides department and job specific orientation, assesses and monitors competency on an ongoing basis, provides for education/inservices as warranted and conducts timely performance evaluations.
7.  Acts as a resource to management staff with departmental or personnel issues including disciplinary actions, policy interpretation and performance and behavioral expectations.
8.  Complies with applicable regulatory agency guidelines, and federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations.
9.  Develop and carries out departmental goals and objectives in conjunction with the hospital’s mission, strategic plans, and other identified needs, as well as in the planning, supervising, and coordinating and directing the activities of the department.
10.  Communicates with peers and staff, and coordinates and collaborates services intra- and interdepartmentally to promote efficient and effective operations within the hospital.
11.  Maintains professional growth and development through attendance at seminars and workshops, and reviewing applicable, current literature.
12.  Participates in hospital committees, hospital-sponsored programs and activities, and civic community activities, as requested.
13.  Maintains effective employee relations.
14.  Ensures effective recruitment, retention, and orientation programs.
15.  Develops and maintains competitive compensation and benefits programs.
16.  Develops and maintains personnel policies necessary to achieve hospital objectives and the fair and consistent treatment of all employees.
