Cyber High

Beginning the 2017-2018 school year, Cyber High will be split into two sections within the Cyber High class. The two sections will include:

Cyber High A-G- Intended for students who are eligible for admission to a 4-year college and are retaking a class for a better grade in order to meet admission requirements. This class will remain in the same format as it is now, whereby: satisfactory completion of assignments, projects, quizzes, and exams is required for course completion.

Cyber High General- Intended for students who are on the high school diploma track and are making up a class in order to receive credits for graduation. This class will no longer include essays or projects, however, quizzes will be weighted more heavily (A score of 70% or above on all quizzes is required in order to pass).

The final grade for a Cyber High course, in both sections, is based upon successful completionof the 5 required unit exams. Please note: If a student fails two or more exams within a course, he or she will, by default, fail the course.

Rules:

Fall/Spring Cyber High courses must be completed within the semester the student is enrolled. If the student fails to complete his or her class within the single semester, that student shall receive a failing grade for that class and will have to recover those credits by:

  • Enrolling in an approved online credit recovery program and completing the program within a four-month period. A LHS counselor shall periodically check-in with the student to assess his or her progress throughout this 4-month period. The following online schools are currently approved by LHS:
  • Advanced Academics
  • The Keystone School
  • National University Virtual High School

Note: Prior approval from a counselor or administrator is required before enrolling in the online schools mentioned above.

Please be advised that all costs associated with credit recovery, either via Cyber High or through an alternate credit recovery school, are the sole responsibility of the student and his or her family. Payment for Cyber High is required by the end of the first week of the semester in which that student is enrolled in Cyber High.

If the student fails to complete one of the options mentioned above, a LHS counselor shall meet with the student and his or her guardian to discuss the possibility of that student attending Pride High School to complete his or her graduation requirements.
