School Attendance
Did You Know?
Your child being absent can impact the learning of other children. When any student misses instruction it takes time for the teacher to catch that student up and move forward with instruction. Students often work together on projects, when one student is absent it can slow down the progress of all the students in the group.
Here’s How You Can Help
- Make sure your child attends all days he/she is well enough to attend.
- Schedule your child’s appointments before or after school or on school holidays.
- Develop a network of family and friends who can assist you with transporting children to and from school when emergencies happen.
- If your child must miss school please communicate with the teacher prior to the absence if possible to allow the teacher to plan for your child’s absence.

Notes from the Nurse
5th Grade Parents: As soon as your child turns 11, they can get their Tdap booster shot. This vaccination is required for entry into 6th grade and placement on class lists. The Tdap includes tetanus and also pertussis (whooping cough) so it is very important to be up to date on this vaccine. Once your student gets their 11 year old shot, please send an updated immunization record to school. Please add your signature and date to the new record. *Special Note. The 2016/2017 6th graders go to Camp Waskowitzin North Bend October 10-13th. 6th grade immunizations are a requirement for camp!

Free/Reduced Lunch 2016-2017: When you receive a Free/Reduced application in the mail or pick one up from the office for the school year 2016-2017, Nutrition Services Policy is you must pay for at least 10 meals or pack a lunch until you hear via a letter from the Nutrition Services Office. Usually it takes 10 days before your child/children are qualified.
If your Child/Children qualified for Free/Reduced during the school year 2015-2016, they still need to turn in a new application for 2016-2017.
