Appointment of Retired Bank Officials

For Advisors / Consultants.

Applications are invited for the post of Advisors/ Consultants on the following eligibility criteria;

No. Of Vacancies of Advisors/Consultants (On contractual Basis):Two ( 2 )

Eligibility Criteria:

a) Only retired officers in the grade MMGS-III and above shall be considered for engagement for the above position

b)Officers should have good track record of performance and deep knowledge of systems and procedures

c)The officer should have retired from the Bank’s service only on attaining superannuation of the age of 60 years.

d)The officers voluntarily retired/resigned/suspended/who have left the Bank otherwise before superannuation shall not be eligible for consideration for appointment.

e)The integrity of the official should not have been doubtful.

f)No punishment/penalty should have been inflicted on the official during the entire period of his service in the Bank.

Engagement for the position:

The retired officers shall be considered for engagement on contractual basis for the following posts/positions:

Retired officers in the grade MMGS-III, SMGS-IV: Advisor/Consultant

Period of Engagement:

The ex-officers shall be engaged for an initial period of 1 year. An extension if required shall be reviewed and approved by Board.

  • The services of the empanelled/ retired officials shall be used for the non-core functions/areas of the bank.
  • The engagement/empanelment of the retired officers will be made on selective basis for such jobs where it requires their rich and vast experience and expertise.
  • Their services shall not be engaged for routine day to day banking assignments which have to be performed by regular staff who are accountable for their omissions/ commissions.

The nature of tasks/jobs to be assigned to theAdvisors/ Consultants are placed as:

a)Codification of Circulars and compilation of Hand Books.

b)Evolving of business plans and strategies

c)Processes (Business/Structure/System and Procedure)

d)Carrying out Market/demand surveys

e)Products and competition

f)Customer Service

g)Complaint Management

h)Improving Delivery Channel.

i)Improvement in Risk Management areas in the Bank

j)Legal Counseling and Consultation

k)Preliminary Investigations

l)Work related to reconciliation and complaint resolution

m)Any other work as decided by the Board/Chairman of the Bank

Monthly Remuneration:

The compensation payable to the contractual officials will be a lump sum of Rs.25000/-p.m. The contractual officials will not be eligible for any other perquisites from the Bank during the period of engagement except reimbursement of mobile call expenses up to Rs.700/-per month.

The Bank will provide the accommodation (Boarding/Lodging) to the officials, who may have to perform their duties away from their places of residence.

Travelling Expenses: For official travel, the contractual officials will be entitled to the facilities and allowances as applicable to the grade at the time of retirement.

Leave: The contractual officials shall be entitled to leave of 15 days during a period of 12 months with the approval of Bank/authority to whom they report. For the purpose of computation of leave, intervening Sundays/Holidays shall not be included. The Bank shall have absolute right in its discretion to either grant or reject the application for leave taking into consideration administrative exigencies.

Other provisions during engagement:

  1. The required secretarial assistance and logistic support will be provided by the Bank.
  2. The empanelled officers will not exercise any administrative/financial powers during the period of engagement.
  3. The ex-officers will not accept any assignment with any organization during the period of their contractual service in the Bank.

Termination of Contract: The engagement of retired officers in the Bank shall not be considered as a case of re-employment in the Bank. The Bank may cancel/terminate the contract of the engagement/empanelment at any time without assigning any reason whatsoever with an option of 30 days’ notice period or payment/surrender of remuneration in lieu thereof.

Execution of agreement for contractual engagement: The empanelled officers will execute a stamped undertaking before taking up the assignment as per proforma in Annexure-I

Review: The review of the contractual officials will be made after 6 months for continuation or enhancement of the scope or otherwise which will be based on careful evaluation of the contribution of such specially engaged retired officials on contract basis.

Selection Procedure:

Candidates will be called for personal interview and the decision of the Bank in this regard shall be final.
