COURSES OPEN FOR WALKING AFTER 3PM THE PRECEEDING DAY

All fences are fair and like those to be found out hunting. Mounts will be judged on soundness, suitability, manners, rate of pace and performance. (Some fences can be viewed online at ; they are on the horse trial cross county course page)

-Prizes for first place. Six ribbons will be awarded in all classes, except where noted.

-High Point awards for Adult & Junior riders. Points awarded from Tranquility Manor Farm (TMF)Elkridge Harford Hunt Pony Club (EHHPC).

-All classes count toward High Point Award.

GREEN animal must not have hunted, shown or evented more than one season.

MAIDEN: Open to those riders who never won 1 blue ribbon at a hunter trial, not including pairs or teams.

JUNIOR: A junior is 17 years of age or younger as of 1/1/2011.

-THE COURSE MUST BE WALKED ON FOOT, ANY MOUNTS SEEN ON THE COURSE BEFORE THE TRIALS WILL BE ELIMINATED.

-HORSE AND PONIES MAY SHOW ONLY ONCE IN EACH CLASS, THIS INCLUDES THE TEAM CLASSES.

-MOUNTS MAY NOT CROSS ENTER INTO THE MASTER’S CLASSES (#17/30)

Rules & Regulations

  1. A current negative coggins dated within 12 months of this show date must be presented for each animal on the show grounds.
  2. Every entry at this Hunter Trial shall constitute an agreement and affirmation that the person making it, owner, lessee, trainer, agent, driver, rider, and the horse (1) shall be subject to the rules of this Hunter Trail, (2) that every horse and rider is eligible as entered, (3) shallhold the Hunter Trial and the EHHPC, their officials, directors, employees, harmless for any injury or loss suffered during or in connection with this trial, whether or not such injury or loss resulted, directly or indirectly from the negligent acts or omissions of those mentioned above.
  3. Proper attire is required. All junior riders must wear ASTM-SEI approved helmets. No one may be mounted at any time without a hard hat and hard soled shoes.
  4. A one minute call will be enforced. If you have a conflict, please notify the gatekeeper.
  5. The hunter trial committee reserves the right to combine, cancel or divide any classes in the best interest of the hunter trial.
  6. Rider’s age will becalculated as of January 1, 2011.
  7. All dogs must be on leash at all times.
  8. All barns, kennels, cottages and the club house are off limits. No one is permitted into any of these buildings at any time.
