British Dressage Eastern Sports Bursary
Introduction
British Dressage is committed to raising the standard of sport across the various groups of riders and a bursary scheme has been established to support riders in their pursuit of excellence. The bursary scheme will provide access to funding, alongside training and support from experts in their field. This will be facilitated through the Eastern Region Training events organised by the committee. The bursary system intends to attract talented riders who will enhance the success of the Eastern Region.

Riders who are eligible to apply and who may be entitled to bursary support must meet the following criteria:

- You should be enthusiastically committed to representingBD sport and prepared to fulfil an ambassadorial role.
- Your competition record should show improvement over the last 12 months
- Submit completed application form before the deadline.
What the Rider Receives

Monitoring the Rider Performance
The Eastern Region Committee Repand mentor, where applicable, will be a key link that provides guidance and support.
As a bursary rider you will be required to adhere to the following processes:
- Identify your goals (performance and academic) over the short, medium and long term. This should be put in writing and will form part of the review process with your appointed mentor
- Identify with your mentor a structured and organised training programme
- Complete a training diary that is in a style and format that your mentor approves of (you may already be using a training diary and your mentor would not want to interfere in an already effective system).
- Maintain a competition record and provide evidence of Regional representation and commitment.
- Provide a photo for the web-site and compose a short biography.
The Bursary will not be provided as a lump sum, but will be claimed as credits. The rider would not be eligible to claim if he/she failed to comply with requirements or was not prepared to engage in the monitoring process.
