Worldwide, the YWCA reaches more than 25 million women and girls in 125 countries.

YWCAs across the United States provide programs and services that respond to critical needs in their communities. YWCAs are supported by more than 47,000 volunteers.

YWCA leadership programs serve more than 50,000 women–more than one-third of them young women–each year.

The YWCA has worked to change history—from ending child labor to pushing for a 40-hour work week, from civil rights to women’s rights, from advocacy for women’s health care to an end to violence against women and girls.

The YWCA is one of the largest providers of domestic violence services in the U.S. and many associations offer sexual assault support. Annually, the YWCA serves more than 550,000 people with programs that address violence.

YWCA local associations spend an average of 83% of their expenses on programming and services.
