New Holland Construction will launch new short radius excavator models at Bauma 2013

New Holland completes its new crawler excavator range with the introduction three short radius models, the E230C SR, E260C SR and E160C Blade Runner. Featuring New Holland’s Tier 4 interim CEGR technology and unique iNDr system, these quiet short radius models combine productivity with the ability to work in the tightest spaces, making them ideal for urban job sites and road construction work:

More fuel savings and productivity with the high-efficiency hydraulics, up to 8% higher swing torque and new ECO working mode

Ultra quiet operation with the unique iNDr cooling system: just 95dB(A) ambient noise and 65 dB(A) inside the cab

More comfort and all round visibility with the new EVO cab

Built-in reliability and durability with reinforced boom and easy serviceability

Extreme versatility of the E160C BR with 6-way dozing capability

Big performance in a compact package

The new E230C SR and E260C SR run a 166 hp engine, up 9 hp from the B Series models they replace, while the E160C BR mounts a 99 hp engine. All three models meet Tier 4 interim emissions standards with New Holland’s Cooled Exhaust Gas Recirculation (CEGR) technology and a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF).

The combination of highly advanced electronic technology and a sophisticated hydraulic system maximises the machines’ performance, adapting it to the task being performed. The upgraded Advanced Electronic Processor (A.E.P.) offers a new ECO working mode to optimise fuel consumption while maintaining the best performance. The new multifunction monitor puts the operator in full control of the machines’ efficiency, providing information of hourly fuel consumption and promoting fuel savings by indicating when the machine is working most efficiently. The new E260C SR delivers impressive swing torque, 8% higher compared to its predecessor.

The compact size and short radius design enable these machines to deliver their best productivity even in confined spaces. They are also easy to transport, with a positive impact on operating costs.

Ultra quiet operation for the urban jobsite and operator comfort

The three models feature New Holland’s revolutionary Integrated Noise and Dust Reduction (iNDr) cooling system, which minimises noise, optimises cooling and maximises particulate filtration. It manages efficiently the incoming and outgoing airflow, directing the extracted air up and away from the excavator, so that the machines run cleaner, quieter and more efficiently. The excellent filtration and efficient cooling mean that the engine performs better. In addition, ambient noise levels are dramatically reduced to just 95 dB(A.

EVO Comfort and safety

The ROPS and FOPS compliant EVO cab provides the operator with excellent all round visibility, improved with the full size right window and standard rear-view camera. The iNDr system combined with dampers and enhanced soundproofing result in only 65 DB(A) of internal noise – by far the best on the market.

Built-in reliability and durability

The three models feature reinforced booms for added durability. The E160C BR’s blade, the heavy-duty lift cylinders, thick boxed-frame beam supports and protected lines and grease fittings are fully integrated into the excavator’s design, providing extra protection and strength. The standard heavy-duty curved shoes maximise the E160C BR’s reliability and durability while providing excellent turning capability and weight distribution. Uptime is maximised by the easy serviceability provided by all main service points being accessible at ground level.

E160C Blade Runner: two machines in one

The E160C BR provides unequalled versatility by integrating excavator and dozer technologies into a single machine. In addition to powerful digging and fine grading capabilities, the new BLADE RUNNER offers a standard 6-way dozer blade and foldable, lockable blade wings that extend the clearing path beyond the width of the tracks. The blade has Power, Angle and Tilt (PAT) capabilities operated from the cab with a single lever. The blade can be angled 25 degrees left and right, dispersing earth and materials away from the machine’s path. It also tilts up on both sides for slope grading, culverts and ditches. The 445 mm maximum lift height provides ample clearance when loading for transport or hill climbing.
