  1. Safe Routes to School Presentation- Deputy Ellison: Sponsored by FDOT to build sidewalks for safer travel to and from school for walkers. Need SAC to give their support and other information including a letter by Mr. Bolden. The whole process will take roughly 3 years to complete. Rodney Salisbury, a community member, is helping with the grant paper work and the process. No school who has completed all paperwork has been denied the funds.
  2. Quarterly Review- 10/16/17: Done by district staff. Visited 12 classrooms and then after each visit had a huddle outside of the classroom to discuss what was seen and to get immediate feedback from district staff. Lots of great feedback was given, but we still have areas that we need to work on. The mid-year review will be an unannounced visit and will just choose which classrooms to visit. Mr. Sanders also extended an invitation to all community members to come to Davidson and see what is going on in our classrooms.
  3. PMP Parent Night Initiative- 10/3/17: We held the first ever PMP night to help struggling students and their parents understand what is going in their students classes and how the teachers plan on helping them to become more successful.
  4. School Board Member Mr. Tim Bryant Appropriated Funds to purchase 54 Chromebooks totaling $20, 239.42- Mr. Bryant will be requesting final School Board approval at the Nov. 13th meeting. He is able to do this with his discretionary funds and the Chromebooks will come with carts to charge them and move them to classrooms. He gets so much money every year and last year we received nothing to make this bigger purchase this year.
  5. MAP Testing and School Writing: Nationwide-assessment to measure progress and replaces the DEA testing. It is designed to align with Florida standards in Math, Reading, and Science. The company is out of Oregon or Washington State. We are giving it twice a year. First round was wrapped up on Oct. 26th and will begin next round after Thanksgiving Break.
