EGGER products on the international stage
Decorative wood-based materials feature at Expo Milano 2015 in the German Pavilion
Expo Milano 2015 is open from 1st May 2015 to 31st October. During this time 150 countries and organisations present their ideas on the "Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life" theme. As a partner of the ARGE German Pavilion, EGGER supplied decorative wood-based materials for the construction of the German Pavilion. Its innovative products highlight the main themes of sustainability, innovation and recycling.
EGGER provided innovative solutions made with the naturally renewable and recyclable resource wood."The Expo Milano 2015 is the ideal platform to present our materials. By introducing our innovations to an international audience of several millions, we can demonstrate how wood-based materials can be employed creatively in furniture and interior design", says Hubert Höglauer, Head of Marketing EGGER Group.
"We are proud to have been selected by the ARGE German Pavilion as their partner and it is wonderful to see how our products have been used", says Ulrich Bühler, Head of Marketing and Sales EGGER Group.
EGGER products in the German Pavilion
On a total surface of 2,700 m2 in the German Pavilion's "Field of Ideas", the exhibition, both restaurants, the VIP Lounge, as well as the "Be(e) Active" show were built with innovative wood-based materials from EGGER. On entering the exhibition, visitors will notice the curved, colourful Eurolight lightweight boards, which define the appearance of this space. None of the 700 boards, which when placed end to end would stretch for 4 kilometres, are identical to one other.
Developed specifically by EGGER for the German Pavilion, the innovative flame-retardant compact laminate with the Feelwood synchronised pore surface fulfils the strict fire protection regulations required, along with the high-traffic demands combined with a contemporary design. It has been used for the table tops and back panels of the benches in the German Restaurant.
The distinctive wall cladding design in the "Symphonie" restaurant has acurved shape and was made of 16 mm thick Eurodecor MDF, featuring the H1215 ST22 Brown Cassino Ash decor. The table tops in the "Symphonie" restaurant consist of 13 mm thick compact laminates and match the wall cladding featuring the same decor.
Those gathering in the VIP Lounge can see the versatility of EGGER products. Filigree, in 13 mm thick compact laminates featuring the H1372 ST22 Natural Aragon Oak décor provides an elegant backdrop, where curved wall elements blend into the ceiling panels.
The "Be(e) Active!" Show is definitely a highlight in the German Pavilion, where visitors are transported across Germany, as if on the wings of bees in flight. The 16,000 visitors expected every day tread the boards of H2790 Moor Acacia from the new "EGGER Laminate Flooring 2015 – 2017" collection.
