Edwin Gould Services for Children & Families’ 4th Annual

“ARTrageous” Children’s Expression Project

WHAT

The 4th Annual “ARTrageous” Children’s Expressions Project, an art carnival for kids and unique two-part fundraising event benefiting Edwin Gould Services for Children and Families, will be held on Sunday, February 27, 2005 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m at the Metropolitan Pavilion (125 West 18th Street). Young people residing in foster care and the Kids Benefit Committee will spend the afternoon with established artists to help create artwork in the midst of a magical carnival. The finished artwork will be unveiled and auctioned at the “ARTrageous” Gala Dinner and Art Auction on May 25, 2005 at Cipriani 42nd Street. The Honorary Co-Chair is Bruce Willis. Other chairs, committee members and honorees include: Allison Weiss, Jane Holzer, Charles & Bonnie Evans, and Robert & Jill Zarin. This year’s artists include: Jeff Koons, Hunt Slonem, Peter Beard, Ross Bleckner, and Mark Kostabi. The event will feature Nickelodeon’s Sponge Bob Square Pants, “Grandma” from the Big Apple Circus, jugglers, stilt walkers, petting zoo, face painting, magic and prizes. Food and drinks will be served. Tickets for the Children’s Day start at $25 for adults and $20 for children (ages 3-18). Children 2 years of age and under are admitted free. WHY

Proceeds will benefit the Edwin Gould Services for Children and Families, a nonprofit organization serving and protecting children and adolescents who have been separated from their families. Most of the children are victims of child abuse, domestic violence, neglect or abandonment. For more than 65 years EGSCF has changed the lives of children and families alike, by providing them with love, safety and permanent homes.
