Position Title: Business Development Officer

Reports To: In-Country Manager

Location: Hoi An, Vietnam

Status: Voluntary- Full time - 6 months

Working Hours: 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday with one hour for lunch

Language skills: English

Brief Description:

The Lifestart Foundation is a grassroots, not-for-profit charity that helps disadvantaged Vietnamese people and their families to become self-sufficient.

The team works to create sustainable and ongoing income streams for the disadvantaged via education and vocational training schemes. Those with complex disabilities are given improved opportunities through the Lifestart Foundation Workshop and the Lifestart Foundation Free Disability Community Centre.

Objective:

1.  Support Lifestart Foundation workshop to become financially self-sufficient

2.  Develop the not-for-profit tours offered from Lifestart Foundation workshop to increase revenues

Required Capabilities:

·  High level of communication and interpersonal skills

·  Excellent organisational and problem solving skills

·  Proficient computer skills (including MS Word, MS Excel)

·  Excellent written and spoken English

Duties:

·  Proactively research and identify new prospects for all market segments including Airline, Corporate, Resorts, Restaurants, Cafes, opportunities within the competitor set and drive sales activity to achieve and exceed targets

·  Conduct site inspections and familiarization of LSF and workshop to existing and potential clients

·  Educating travel agencies - both wholesale and retail about LSF Tours

·  Contact travel books such as Lonely Planet, the Rough guides, National Geographic travel book and Frommer’s seeking assistance in advertising

·  Working closely with and under the direction of In Country Manager

·  Devise a weekly report to send to Founder and In Country Manager

·  Contact all hotels in Hoi An to make appointments to see GM or owner seeking assistance to promote the tour within the hotel

·  Increase tour promotion on Facebook and other social media sites and working closely with Social Media Staff

·  Respond to comments from trip advisor comments

·  Increase exposure on trip advisor & address how we can increase the current ranking

·  Attend any networking events in the local area

·  Act as an ambassador for LSF, and a point of contact for external contacts and ensure smooth implementation and introduction of new clients into the business

·  Increase network while identifying new clients, opportunities and target accounts; manage relationships with prospective clients, generate leads and create new business opportunities

·  Identify obstacles in the sales process and introduce new methods to overcome these obstacles

·  1 shift per week in the workshop to have a sound understanding of the overall business
