Volunteer Position Descriptions
Liaison (2) positions - JV, and Varsity team. Communicates with coach and players/families. Mainly email.
Cherry Fest Volunteer Coordinator – Recruit/organize volunteers to staff 1 water station for 15K @ Cherry Fest of Races the last Saturday morning of Cherry Fest.
Pre-season Conditioning Camp– 4-Day camp held 2 weeks before tryouts to assist the players in getting in shape. Help with registration, fee collection, drinks and fruit for camp; Booster $ pays for food.
Tryouts – Board Secretary attends 1st day to assist Coaches in checking in prospective/returning players; crosscheck Physicals list to verify those trying out have updated physical on file with TCC Athletic Office before stepping on the field.
TC Invite Drink/Snack Coordinator(s) – Purchase sport drink, water bottles, and healthy snacks and set them up at the Invite. Boosters pay for supplies.(TCW provides bagels and fruit – but can trade off who brings what).
Away Game Food Coordinator –Coordinate bag lunch orders with Jimmy Johns, or similar, for all in-season Away Games. (Take orders from players, collect $, place order). Determine with Coaches and Boardfor which Away games food/drinks need to be purchased or provided by volunteers. Typically for Dearborn Trip, Petoskey Invite, etc., and typically paid from Booster funds. (Bagels, fruit, Gatorade, water bottles, etc., or as requested by Coaches).
Concessions –Coordinate/schedule the volunteers to work the concessions.
Wearables - Assist with selling, ordering and distributing wearables.
Website – Update team website with roster, game results, photos, upcoming events, etc..
Game Day Decorations –Decorate the bleachers and the entrance to show our team spirit. The decorations are provided.
50/50 Raffle -Coordinate parents to sell raffle (50/50) tickets during home games and at one football game.
Tailgate Coordinator – Coordinate tailgates for home games; usually 1 per month during season; invite TCW families to join us at our tailgate; they usually reciprocate. Recruit parents to bring tables, and assign categories of food. Families provide own drinks.
Team Pasta Dinners – Coordinate parents to provide pasta dinners for both teams the night before home games.
Ball Boys/Girls Coordinator – Ball boys/girls are needed for every home game. Recruit and schedule ball boys for home games (work with team liaison to recruit ball boys). Contacts TBAYS and YMCA to recruit ball boys/girls for games.
Community Soccer Night - Work with JV Coach to organize/market the event to the youth soccer community to promote soccer skills and the Trojan Soccer Program. Trojan soccer players will run the stations.
Videographer – Record varsity games and upload to Hudl.com account, or similar website, for review by coaches/players.
End of Season Banquet –Organize the end of season banquet. Great notes to follow from past years.
Senior Night – Last home game; acknowledgment of graduating seniors and their families during halftime. Prepare special roster/program with photos and short bios of seniors; flowers for moms.
Iceman Mountain Bike RaceFood/Water Station -The Iceman Mountain Bike race is 1st Sat. in November. This is a fundraising event; committee chair recruits, coordinates volunteers – usually earn $500 for working the event.
Scholarship Committee–at least 3 (preferably 5)parents of underclassmen to review scholarship applications in October in time to award 1 recipient at our banquet. The committee meets once to choose the recipient of the TC Soccer Booster Scholarship for a graduating senior.
Program Advertisement - Recruit sponsors to advertise in the game program handed out at each home game. This person will work with the CHS Athletic office liaison.
