Active Tameside are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and energeticSwimming Development Coordinator

As Swimming Development Coordinator you will assist in developing aquatics programmes across Active Tameside, including our School Swimming and Learn to Swim programmes, as well as mentoring and quality assuring the programmes of delivery taught by ourteam of ASA Swimming Teachers.

You will work closely with the regional ASA Development Officer and represent Active Tameside at local and regional networks.

You will also work in partnership with the ASA to develop and deliveran annual programme of continued professional development for the Active Tameside’s Swim Teacher team.

Post objective:

This post forms an integral part of the Active Tameside’s service delivery team. The post will assist in ensuring an efficient and effective service in relation to the development, organisation, delivery and quality assurance of programmes of activity that make up a comprehensive service offer to users.

The post holder will be responsible for coordinating a high quality swimming programme including School Swimming and Learn to Swim.

The post will ensure that the required outputs involving quality assurance, participation, swimmer progression and net income are achieved, reporting to the Service Manager (Active Education) and liaising with other Service Managers and centre teams.

The post will also contribute significantly towards delivering customer service excellence and ensuring users continue to access services.

Duties:

  1. To develop Aquatics activity across Active Tameside including the coordination the Learn to Swim and School Swimming programmes, assisting the Service Manager team to identify areas for improvement
  1. To plan, coordinate and lead an annual programme of professional development for the Swimming Teacher teamincluding; 1-1 support and guidance and relevant training and development opportunities
  1. To provide support to the Swimming Teacher team by co-ordinating the delivery, monitoring and evaluation of individual and group activity. This includes:
  1. The coordination and delivery of a swim teacher mentoring programme
  2. The coordination and delivery of a quality assurance programme
  3. Leading in the delivery of pilot projects (where possible)
  4. Providing cover for swimming teachers where necessary
  1. To provide support to the swimming teacher team by contributing to work in the school setting when required and:
  1. Provide support to establish, competitions and school holiday activities.
  2. Create structured links with local swimming clubs and help establish junior sections and coach education initiatives.
  1. To contribute towards the marketing of Aquaticsservices and be proactive to take the steps necessary to ensure programmes of swimming activity are successful and sessions operate at optimal capacity
  1. To represent Active Tameside at partnership meetings on a regular basis and provide feedback to the Active Education and sport Manager
  1. To monitor and evaluate programmes of swimming activity, specific activities and events in accordance with relevant Trust, National Governing Body or industry recognised guidelines/protocols when relevant, and based upon this evaluation consult with Service Managers to progress necessary developments.
  1. To work with centre teams to ensure programmes of swimming activity are being correctly administered, ensuring that participant’s progress is monitored and evaluated and participants are placed and moved into appropriate groups according to ability.
  1. To communicate with customers and colleagues on a regular basis to obtain feedback and ideas for improvements, and to encourage customers to access services on a regular basis.
  1. To comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act, Trust policy and procedure and codes of safe working practice.
  1. To ensure the safety and welfare of users through the knowledge and implementation of Normal Operating Procedures and Emergency Action Plan Procedures.
  1. To lead and attend meetings, seminars and relevant training to maintain an appropriate professional development record in accordance with the Trust’s business objectives.
  1. To be a proactive member of the team, continually seeking to improve and develop your own skills and the performance of the team and operate within and comply with Active Tameside’s policies, procedures and values at all time
  1. To provide relevant guidance and support to volunteers who may be part of Aquatics development training opportunities
