Sanjib Som

Between Fall2012 meeting and Spring meeting of 2013 a total of 69 new & resubmitted papers in the transformer area were submitted to IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery for possible publication. For all ofthese papers the recommendations were as follows:

Accept: 8

Revise and Resubmit: 27

Reject: 26

Under Review 8

The above numbers include reviews managed by all editors.

The 8papers accepted for publication are shown below:

1 / TPWRD-00532-012.R4 / Accelerating Dielectric Response Measurements on Power Transformers Part I: A Frequency Domain Approach
2 / TPWRD-00430-012.R3 / Measuring Paper Water Content of Transformers: A New Approach Using Cellulose Isotherms in Non-Equilibrium Conditions
3 / TPWRD-00480-012.R2 / Analysis of the Electrodynamic Forces in a Superconducting Saturated Core Fault Current Limiter under Short-Circuit Conditions
4 / TPWRD-00401-012.R2 / Post-mortem Investigation of Power Transformers - Profile of Degree of Polymerization and Correlation with Furan Concentration in the Oil
5 / TPWRD-00629-012.R2 / Duality-Synthesized Circuit for Eddy CurrentEffects in Transformer Windings
6 / TPWRD-00574-012.R1 / Current Status and future Trends in Frequency Response Analysis with Transformer in Service
7 / TPWRD-00588-012.R2 / Discrimination between Internal Faults and Other Disturbances in Transformer Using Support Vector Machine Based Protection Scheme
8 / TPWRD-00723-012.R2 / Analytical Calculation of Leakage Inductance for Low – Frequency Transformer Modeling

I would like to thank all of the reviewers who volunteered for this effort and donated their time, and would like to encourage everyone associated with IEEE Transformers Committee activities to consider becoming a Reviewer. I would like to encourage those Reviewers that already have an account on IEEE Manuscript Central to keep their profile information updated and complete the areas for key words and areas of interest. We need more reviewers and I encourage any of you that have not signed up as reviewers to sign up per the instructions at the end of this document.

It is important for all interested individuals to follow the norm for writing papers as provided in IEEE; the link is and the link to upload the paper is

Please inform me at as soon as you do sign up so that we are able to utilize your efforts.

  • I would also like to take this opportunity to personally acknowledge the reviewers involved in thetransformer committee who have been regularly and consistently reviewing papers. This is an important contribution since it maintains the high standards for our papers and it gives back to the industry their expert knowledge.

Special mention must also go out to the editors who have worked hard to make this possible; they are Dr Kulkarni, Francisco De Leon and Dr. Reza Iravani.

Respectfully Submitted,

Sanjib Som
