1.0 Object

1.1 The object of the ECU Wellbeing Communityis to improve health and wellbeing on campus, by promoting mental health awareness, reducing stigma and supporting fellow students and staff.

2.0 Membership

2.1 Membership shall be open to:

2.1.1All ECU students who identify as having, or previously having a mental health issue, for students concerned with improving their mental wellbeing, or students studying a related degree

2.2 To join individuals need only fill out the membership form at

2.3 All members who are ECU students have voting rights at all meetings of the Wellbeing Community

2.4Membership shall cease if a member:

2.4.1Resigns.

2.4.2Is suspended or expelled at the discretion of the club, in accordance with 7.0

2.5No member is eligible to apply for grants or gifts from the collective, nor is the collective able to grant such appeals.

3.0 Meetings

3.1 Officers of the Wellbeing Community must communicate at least once a week during the academic year.

3.2 Meetings of the Wellbeing Community will be held monthlythroughout the academic year, excluding teaching breaks.

3.3General Meetings of the wellbeing community are open to all members.

3.448 hours’ notice must be given to all general members for all meetings.

3.5Wellbeing Community meetings must be chaired by an officer of the collective

3.6Minutes must be taken for all committee meetings and have an attendance record. This must be made available upon request of a club member or an ECU Student Guild Senator.

3.7The Collective will hold an Annual General Meeting every year.

3.8Quorum for meetings shall be at least one officer and twogeneral members.

4.0 Annual General Meeting

4.1The club shall hold an Annual General Meeting at which club officers and committee members will be elected.

4.2The quorum shall consist of the executives of the club plus at least three generalmembers.

4.4 Business of the Annual General Meeting shall include:

4.4.1Confirmation of minutes of the previous Annual General Meeting

4.4.2Primary Wellbeing Officer’s report

4.4.3Treasurer’s report and statement of account for preceding financial year

4.4.4Election of club officials and members of the committee

4.4.5Changes to the constitution

4.4.6General business

5.0 Officers

5.1The officers of the Wellbeing Community are elected by consensus of the current committee members at the AGM

5.2The Officer positions are:

5.2.1Primary Mental Health Officer

5.2.2Secondary Mental Health Officer

5.2.3Secretary

5.2.4Treasurer

5.2.5Events Coordinator

5.3The Officers of the Collective hold the position for 1 year or until AGM unless voted out by a unanimous consensus.

5.4The Officers are responsible for:

5.4.1Being a public figure of the collective

5.4.2Organising events for the collective

5.4.3Maintaining online presence of the collective.

5.4.4Attend meetings of the collective.

5.4.5Monitor the Wellbeing Community email.

5.5A vacant Officer position may be filled by a member, if elected at the next committeemeeting.

6.0 Elections at AGM

6.1 Any member of the collective can nominate themselves as a candidate

6.2 Nominations for candidates will be collected minimum of two weeks before the AGM

6.3 In the instance that a position only has one candidate, the candidate will be given the position by default.

6.4 In the instance that a position has multiple candidates, the position will be filled by a ballot paper vote, the candidate who has the majority will be elected.

6.5 In the instance that a position has no candidates, the position will remain vacant and will be advertised each month in the newsletter until a candidate is found and the candidate can then be voted in at the next committee meeting with a majority vote.

7.0 Suspension or expulsion of members

7.1Any member of the club who fails to observe the constitution of the collective or whose conduct, in the interests of the committee, does not observe the objectives of the club may receive a written and verbal warning.

7.2 Following a warning, if the individual’s behavior does not change and they continue to conduct themselves in a manner that is not in the interest of the collective, the individual may be suspended or expelled from membership of the club. This will be decided by committee vote.

7.2The Collective must communicate in writing OR orally to the member the notice of the suspension and particulars of the conduct that resulted in the suspension.

7.3A member who is suspended or expelled under section 7.0 and wishes to appeal against that suspension or expulsion shall give notice to an officer of the collective of their intention to do so within seven (7) days of notice of the suspension or expulsion.

7.4The appeal must be heard by the officers of the collective and the suspended or expelled member must have the opportunity to attend.

8.0 Register of club members

8.1The secretary, on behalf of the Collective, must keep and maintain an up-to-date register of the members of the association. This register must be made available upon the request of an ECU Student Guild Senator.

8.2The register of members must be updated continuously.

9.0 Finance

9.1The Officers shall ensure true accounts are kept of the monies received and expended.

9.2A balance sheet containing a summary of assets and liabilities of the club, together with a statement of income and expenditure for the preceding year shall be made out and submitted to the next annual general meeting.

9.3The authority to access any bank accounts shall rest with at least two (2) club officers.

9.4A yearly budget must be presented to the committee for each Academic year.

9.5Change of titles on banks accounts must be maintained, with regards to the change of officers following an AGM.

9.6The yearly budget shall be provided to the ECU Student Guild on request.

10.0Changing the constitution

10.1No alteration, addition or amendment of this constitution shall be made unless and until carried by a resolution at any general meeting called for such a purpose. Alteration, addition or adjustment of the constitution may be made by a majority of at least two thirds of the members present.

10.2Notice of the proposed alternation, addition or amendment shall be given to all committee members minimum of 48hrs prior to the AGM or SGM

10.3 Alterations to the constitution can only be made at AGM or SGM (Special General Meeting.)
