Dear Graduating Senior,
Kinross Gold Corporation, Kettle River – Buckhorn, is committed to the ongoing education of the youth in our local communities. The Kinross Scholarship Committee is especially interested in supporting students looking to advance in fields related to minerals extraction and other studies associated with natural resource industries. In today’s world, a wide variety of disciplines arenecessary to support industries engaging in the responsible use of our natural resources. Kinross is proud to be able to offer scholarship opportunities that will assist the next generation in gaining the proper education to make responsible decisions while positively contributing to society.
We are offering scholarships to local graduating seniors from the following school districts in Ferry and Okanogan Counties: Curlew, Oroville, Republic and Tonasket.
The deadline for applications is MARCH31, 2017.
Award criteria:
- Applicant must have a cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale
- Applicant must be graduating in good standing from Curlew, Oroville, Republic or Tonasket School Districts
- Applicant must provide proof of full-time enrollment and declared major for the 2017/18 school year in anaccredited vocational, technical, two or four year institute of higher education
- Funds will be remitted directly to the institution of higher education once proof of enrollment is provided
Selection Process:
- Selection of recipients will be made by a committee of Kinross employees based onGPA, field of study, academic and personal achievement, community involvement, and essay content
- Quality, appearance and completeness of application will also be considered
- Incomplete or illegible applications will not be considered
- Selections will be made by May 19, 2017
