Education, Training and Employment Worker

Job Title: Education, Training and Employment Worker

Responsible To: Lifeskills Manager

Job Purpose

  • Identify barriers to employment and education, assist service users with such matters as job readiness skills, job search strategies, writing résumés and preparing for job interviews.
  • Provide career, training and education counselling.
  • Provide information on maintaining a job or moving within an organisation, dealing with job dissatisfaction or making a career change.
  • Collect labour market information for service users regarding job openings, entry and skill requirements and other occupational information.
  • Provide consulting services to community groups and agencies, business and industry, and to other organisations involved in providing community-based career planning resources and/or employment opportunities
  • Monitoring the long term impact (in line with the monitoring requirements outlined in the application form) of the service users involved.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  1. Education and Training Provision

1.1.To conduct in-depth interviews with service users regarding their educational and training aspirations and draw up an action plan with goals and next steps and conduct further interviews with service users on where they are heading.

1.2.Ensure that all external education providers are fully informed of Eaves work and subjected to background checks.

1.3.To coordinate existing education and employment workshops, managing topics, teaching and schedule, planning annual schedule of workshops.

1.4.To liaise and network with external educational providers to procure new teaching and education initiatives on behalf of Eaves

1.5.To promote via word of mouth and the internet all educational events, workshops, internships that occur in conjunction with Eaves.

1.6.To ensure that effective policies and procedures are established within the project, to monitor these regularly and to implement changes as appropriate in line with statutory requirements and best practice.

  1. Employment Provision

2.1. To conduct in-depth interviews with service users regarding their employment aspirations and draw up an action plan with goals and next steps and conduct further interviews with service users on where they are heading

2.2.To coordinate all of Eaves employment based initiatives including HERA and Eaves own social enterprise.

2.3.Ensure that all external providers are fully informed of Eaves work and subjected to background checks.

2.4.To liaise and network with external employment providers to procure new work placements and corporate partnerships on behalf of Eaves

2.5.To promote via word of mouth and internet all of Eaves work based and employment based initiatives.

2.6.To ensure that effective policies and procedures are established within the project, to monitor these regularly and to implement changes as appropriate in line with funding requirements and best practice.

  1. Coordinating Services

3.1.Oversee the development of Eaves education and employment programs and in conjunction with the Scarlet ManagerLife Skills Manager.

3.2.Participate in the advice and support centre weekly and Saturday rota.

3.3.3.2.Oversee the co-ordination, development, design and deliveryof Education and Employment initiatives.

3.4.3.3.Ensure workshops are well planned, have clear aims, are relevant, respond to different learning styles and follow best practice guidelines

3.5.3.4.Ensure services are continually improved through proactive client involvement and consultation

3.6.3.5.Oversee the development and maintenance of Education and Employmentadvice centre information and resources to support women who have experienced different forms of sexual violence.

3.7.3.6.Establish effective referral process and proceduresfor Employment and Educational initiatives to other services.

  1. Monitoring and Evaluation

4.1.Ensure compliance with funding requirements including the co-ordination and production of accurate and timely monitoring information and reports to internal and external bodies.

4.2.Develop and manage a comprehensive project monitoring and evaluation system in liaison with the Scarlet CentreLife Skills Manager.

4.3.Carry out an annual referral agency survey in order to identify relevant issues to guide planning and improve service delivery.

4.4.Oversee an annual service user survey and monitor regular service user feedback in order to identify relevant issues to guide planning and improve service delivery.

4.5.Produce reports for funders, stakeholders and Eaves Board as required
