PROGRAM CONTENTS:
The Eastern Suffolk BOCES Summer Enrichment program is being offered at Academy Street Elementary School for all students who have completed any grade from Kindergarten through Grade 6. The full-day program is from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. and the half-day program is from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. Since this program is sponsored by Eastern Suffolk BOCES students can benefit from this low-cost summer enrichment program with many extraordinary educational programs and services.
PROGRAM ACTIVITIES:
Science and Math Enrichment Courses
Hands-on science and math classes designed to make ALL students get excited about the world around us. Sample programs include Robotics, Legoland, Whacky Science, Slime, Goo & Ooze, Math Puzzles, Forensics and Colonial Toys & Games.
Literacy Courses
Students will participate in small groups specifically designed to develop literacy skills and engage students in their learning. Students should have fun as they design and author their own creative works. Sample programs include Cook Up A Story, Author’s Workshop, Chef Shop, Reader’s Theater and Puppet Play Production.
Integrated Courses
Students will engage in classes that incorporate different learning areas. Sample programs include Photo Editing, Digital Photography, Robotics, International Foods and Basic Dance.
Art Expression
Students will experiment with drawing, painting and arts and crafts as they participate in this experience.
Recreational Games
Students will be grouped according to age and participate in basketball, softball, soccer, football and other sports. Students will learn the basics of team play, sportsmanship and physical fitness.
OTHER PROGRAM FEATURES:
Extended Child Care Program:
To provide for the needs of working parents, the 2013 Bayport-Blue Point Summer Enrichment Program will offer extended child care from 7:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. and from 4:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. The cost is $5 per a.m. session and $5 per p.m. session.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
ü Parents will provide transportation to and from the program.
ü Parents will provide lunch and snacks for their children.
ü There will be three sessions lasting two weeks each. All registrants must enroll for two week intervals.
ü Please note the registration fee may be claimed on your yearly tax forms. Consult your accountant for additional information.

Enrollment will be limited to 120 students per session
Extended child care will be available from 7:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. and from 4:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. The cost is $5 per a.m. session and $5 per p.m. session. Payment will be collected on the first day of each two-week session in the form of cash. A future mailing will be sent for parents to enroll in this program.
