Trolley Lights Tour
The Board is continuing our holiday tradition of hosting the annual trolley tour. On Sunday, December 18th, we have reserved the Boise Trolley for a private holiday lights tour around SE Boise.
We plan on three trolley trips, 6:00, 7:00 and 8:00 pm. Residents will gather at Dane & Jeanne Bourquin's home at 2144 Independence to enjoy a potluck, beginning at 5:30 p.m. through 9:00 p.m. Food will be served while we await our trolley rides. Please bring food to share, such as an appetizer, main dish, dessert etc. We will provide drinks! The tours will be approximately 30-45 minutes long. This event is free to all of our residents and a fun chance for us to get together and celebrate as a community, so please join us! We have invited Santa, so we hope he will make a surprise appearance!
You will need to RSVP to we make sure we have space for everyone. Please email or by phone at (208)629-8604 with the number of children and adults that will be attending and also let us know which trolley tour you prefer (6:00, 7:00 or 8:00 pm).
Please RSVP by Thursday, December 15th! Again, please be sure to bring an appetizer, main dish or dessert. to share with everyone. We look forward to seeing everyone on the 18th of December! Remember to RSVP!!
Winter Weather Reminder...... Did You Know?
Did you know that after a snow, our CC&R’s and city code require us to clear snow and ice off the sidewalks in front of your house? Besides abiding by the CC&R’s, know that you will be getting your cardio in as well as preventing any slips and falls relating to liability issues.
' 'Trash Talkin' in the Neighborhood'
Every year the City offers overflow trash collection service after the Christmas holiday and in the spring. This allows residents to dispose of larger amounts of waste typically generated during the winter holidays and spring cleanup. Residents can set out extra trash but all trash must be in wheeled carts, 20- to 32-gallon trash cans, or paper leaf bags (yard waste only, e.g. leaves, garden scraps). No overflow stickers are needed.
Cleanup Week
● Holiday Cleanup: December 26, 2016 - December 30, 2016
To help residents get the most out the cleanup week, Republic Services and Boise City offer the following tips:
● Make sure your trash and recycling are out by 7:00 a.m. on your regular service day.
● Extra trash must be in 20-32 gallon trash cans.
● Yard waste must be in 20-32 gallon trash cans or paper leaf bags. Bags will go directly to the landfill for disposal.
● Bundle tree/shrub branches into 4-foot lengths. No overflow sticker is needed.
● All extra cans, leaf bags, and bundled branches must weigh less than 60 pounds each.
● Large items such as appliances and furniture can be collected by calling Republic Services at (208) 345-1266 to schedule a free pickup.
● Televisions, computer monitors, and batteries must be taken to a household hazardous waste mobile collection site.
● If Residential Cleanup Week falls on your normal recycling week, remember, recycling is always unlimited-no "overflow stickers" required! Set extra recycling out in containers labeled "Recycling" or order a second recycling cart.
Lights for Safety and Security
As a reminder for safety and security throughout the neighborhood, please leave outside porch and garage lights on at night, especially as our days get shorter and it becomes dark earlier. Light is a great deterrent to crime! If you should notice a street light is out, please write down the 6 digit code on the light post and report it to the Street Light Department at Boise City, 384-3744.
Christmas Tree Collection
● You can recycle your Christmas tree and bundled branches from January 2 - January 6, 2017. Set your tree out for curbside collection on your regular trash collection day. Please note the following guidelines:
● Trees must be free of lights, ornaments, tinsel and stand.
● Trees must be cut to 4-foot lengths or shorter. Tree branches must also be bundled and weigh less than 60 pounds.
● Flocked trees and wreaths are not accepted.
Participating in tree collection program saves space in your trash cart and helps Boise achieve sustainability.
Covenants, Codes and Restrictions
Keep in mind that one of AMI’s responsibilities is to enforce the standards of our homeowners’ association. Typical issues that are reported to the board each month are: trash cans left in view within 24-hours of trash pick-up; vehicles that aren’t being driven daily and parked on the street; excessive weeds during the spring and summer; trash, excess building supplies, other refuse being stored within view on your property; unregistered or inoperable vehicles parked in your driveway. This is just a heads-up to be aware of what AMI looks for each month in order to ensure that our neighborhood maintains its value and curb appeal throughout the year.
Keep in Mind......
If replacing windows, exterior painting (even if you are using the same color), replacing the roof or garage door, significant changes to the landscape or hardscape, need to be submitted to the Architectural Committee for approval. Find the request forms at amihome.net. Your request must be approved and signed before any work can begin.
Thought of the Season
