DISCUSSION ITEMS

  1. Title 1 Funding:
  1. We would like to understand the complete flow of Title 1 funding from the state of Louisiana to EBR to the schools and costs deducted from the pool allocated to schools.
  2. We would appreciate notification of EBR Homeless and Parent Involvement training for which our employees could participate.
  1. Title 11 A Funding:
  1. We understand that funds are available if the EBR professional development training is utilized. What funding will be available to reimburse Charter for professional development training not held by EBR?
  1. Title 111 Funding:
  1. We would like to receive EBRs Home Language survey?
  2. Screening of students-who will complete and report to state.
  3. Funding will be distributed based on the number of ELL students in attendance on count day.
  1. IDEA:
  1. We would like to receive written documentation regarding the IDEA application process and acceptable uses of funds prior to the start of school.
  2. IDEA applications will be sent to EBR each September.
  1. Special Education :
  1. Service needs from EBR to charter and funding available to cover services.
  1. Grant Accounting and Reimbursement
  1. Will charter be responsible for making all grant funded purchases?
  2. Will EBR reimburse charter for all grant funded purchases, salaries and salary benefits?
  3. Charter will write their grant applications accordingly, using the Purchase Services category.
  1. Student Data:
  1. Clarification is needed on re-keying and uploading student information from charter’s system to EBR’s e-Schools Plus system to EBR’s e-Schools Plus system (attendance, SPED, grades, discipline, etc.)
  2. Charter will have service center staff trained on the e-Schools Plus system. Let’s discuss updates and future training as well.
  1. Staffing:
  1. Difficulty in receiving criminal background check results.
  2. We would like a sample of a unprofessional conduct check form that EBR uses that is required for hiring.
  3. Certification/licensing of principal required or desired.
  4. Teachers Bill of Rights requirement and process.
  1. Other Support Services of EBR shared Services-any additional services needed
  1. Compliance:
  1. A listing of required documents to be provided to EBR departments with expected due dates.
  2. Expected due dates for e-school data to be available.
  1. Discipline
  1. Understand the availability of the Discipline Centers for Suspending students-process,required,expulsions, cost.
  2. Understand the Visiting Teacher Role for truancy.
  1. Food Service:
  1. Claims processing and any requirements for EBR reporting.
