1.0. Classes:

1.1.Cadet Class 50ccFrom the Date of Fifth (5) Birthday to 31st December of the year of Ninth (9) Birthday. Minimum Racing Weight (Kart and Driver) 70kgs.

1.2.Junior GP Class 60cc From the Date of Ninth (9) Birthday to 31st December of Thirteenth (13) Birthday. Minimum Racing Weight (Kart and Driver) 95kgs.

1.3.Kart and Engine For Cadet Class 50cc TOPKART BABYKART. Engine COMER C50cc.For Junior GP Class TOPKART MINI 2000 Engine Comer W60cc

1.4.Numbers will be Arial Font Only with a maximum of Two Digits.

Cadet Class 50cc will be BLACK numbers on a YELLOW background. GP Junior Class 50cc will be BLACK numbers on a WHITE background.

Numbers One, Two, and Three are reserved for Winners of the Respective National Championships.

3.0. Entries:

Competitors will require the following:

Valid KMSL Karting Competition Licence

Valid Medical Certificate Book issued by KMSL (to be held during the event by the Secretary of the Event).

Valid Registered Motor Club Membership

Valid Medical Insurance Policy

Entry Fee is Kshs 4,000.00 cash or cheque payable to Mombasa Motor Club

Entries close on Saturday 25thAugust 2007 at 13.00hrs at the Mombasa Go kart Track.

4.0. Organisation:

The Event will be run in compliance with the National Competition Rules where Applicable and these Additional Supplementary Regulations.

5.0. Scrutineering Weigh In and Drivers Paddock (Park Ferme):

Karts must be presented for Scrutineering before any Official Practice, Race/Heat or at any time required by the Scrutineer.

Karts must be presented in a clean condition with the Correct Racing Number.

Weights fitted to the Kart to Obtain the Minimum Racing Weight must be secured to the satisfaction of the Scrutineer whose decision will be Final.

No Weights may be carried on the Competitor.

Karts must be presented Drained of All Fuel.

Karts removed from the Competitors Paddock for whatever reason during the Race Meeting must be drained of Fuel and returned drained of Fuel.

Karts and Drivers will be ‘’Weighed In‘’ at Scrutineering.

Drivers must present their Crash Helmet, Racing Suites, Gloves and Shoes/neck support for Scrutineering and ‘’Weigh In‘’.

Karts will be held in the Competitors Paddock through out the Race Meeting and if removed for any reason will have to undergo Scrutineering and ‘’Weigh In’’ before competing in any Official Practice, Race/Heat.

6.0. Fuel and Oil:

Fuel Mix to be used by all Competitors during The Race Meeting will be supplied by the Organisers. Unleaded Premium Pump Fuel with Synthetic Two Stroke Racing Oil mixed at a ratio of 40:1 ( 50cc ) and 3% ( 60cc ) will be mixed at Scrutineering.

7.0. Practice:

Practice times will determine Grid Positions of the First Heat/Race.

All Competitors will have a minimum of One and a Maximum of Three Practice Sessions of between Five and Ten Minutes. Competitors must complete a minimum of three consecutive practice laps to qualify for Racing.

Weigh In may be conducted after practice.

For this event only, pre-event practice at VENUE will be allowed on Saturday25thAugust 2007,from 08.00 hrs to 12.00 hrs.

8.0. Heats / Racing:

Competitors will compete in Three Heats/Races in each National Championship Meeting.

Each Heat/Race counts towards the 2007 Cummins National Karting Championship

Heats will have a Maximum of Ten Karts.

Classes may be amalgamated if there is less than a total of Ten Karts Entered.

Heats/Races will be 12 Laps.

Grid Positions for Heat/Race One will be taken from the Practice Times with the fastest being on Pole Position.

Grid Positions for Heat/Race Two will be the Finishing Positions of Heat/Race One.

Grid Positions for Heart/Race Three will be the Finishing Positions of Heat/Race Two.

Grid Positions will be Two Offset Rows as per the Marking on the Circuit.

Timing will be via Electronic Transponder Mounted on the Karts and MoGo race management software.

Last Lapboard will be displayed at the Start Line on the penultimate Lap.

9.0. Safety:

Entrance to the Competitors Paddock and in the Competitors Paddock Speed Limit is SLOW WALKING PACE.

Competitors Must Signal by Holding up an Arm if they are Slowing Down or Entering the Paddock for any reason.

Competitors Slowing Down for Any Reason must Signal and Stay off the Racing Line where Possible.

Competitors shouldslowdown after the Chequered Flag and not Overtake on the Lap into the Paddock.

Fire Extinguishers must be placed in the Competitors Paddock.

10.0. Competitors Clothing:

Competitors must wear the following.

Approved Karting One Piece Overalls of Either Cotton or Leather Covering the Wrists and Ankles.

Good Quality Full Face or Motor Cross Helmets with either Visors or Goggles.

Driving Gloves that Cover the Wrists and Fingers.

Karting Boots or Trainers that have Ankle Protection.

Neck Braces are Compulsory for 2007 in all Classes.

11.0. Racing Karts and Engines:

Karts and Engines: Must be raced as Supplied by TOPKART and COMER with NO MODIFICATIONS or ENGINE BLUEPRINTING. Repairs to Cracks and Breaks to the Chassis are permitted but must not constitute any form of Box Sectioning or Reinforcement.

Carburettor Main Jets may be changed. Air Filter Housings may be modified to allow more air in and air Filter Foam may be removed using only the OEM part supplied and homologated with the Kart.

Bodywork: Front Bumper, Side Pods, Front Number Plate Panel Must remain as Supplied by TOPKART and must be in Place at all times during any Practice, Qualifying, Heat/Race. The Loss Of any Bodywork during any Practice, Qualifying, and Heat/Race will entail a Penalty of Exclusion. The rear Number Plate is Free but must be of the same Material and Size as Supplied.

Tyres and Rims: The only Permitted Tyres and Rims are the Tyres and Rims supplied by TOPKART as Original Equipment.

All parts shall be as OEM homologated by Kart Manufactures and supplied as standard.

All engines should be presented sealed and a check will be carried out before and after the racing. Any engine not complying with is subject to starting the race with the steward’s decision.

Sponsors Compulsory stickers will be carried on the Karts.

Competitors are to compete within the spirit of the rules and regulations and to conduct themselves in the spirit of good sportsmanship at all times, before, during, and after the event. Any unsporting Behaviour shall be reported to the Karting commission for disciplinarily action.
