Earth-Related Disaster Presentation Requirements

Name ______Due date ______Period ______

Choose a specific natural disaster (EARTHQUAKE, VOLCANIC ERUPTION OR TSUNAMI ONLY) that occurred AFTER the year 1900 (older events can be more challenging because it is difficult to find photos). You will pretend to be a news reporter and present specific information about that event (see bullet points below) in a news broadcast format. You must present your project at school on the specific day that will be assigned to you. If you are not prepared for your presentation on your assigned day, you will receive a zero (three times in the gradebook). If you are sick, on your assigned day, YOU MUST PROVIDE A DOCTOR’S EXCUSE and you may present when you return. You will NOT be working with a partner.

Make sure you have all of your research with you during class each day, so you will be preparedwhen we work on the projects during class. Small parts of the project will be due on specified Fridays and by the time the entire project is due, you will already have everything done! If the requirements are NOT MET on the days they are due throughout this unit, you will lose 10 points from your final project grade for EACH time your work is incomplete.
