EARLY YEARS (PREP) CLASSROOM TEACHER

Applications are invited from enthusiastic teachers, committed to Christian education, for the position of full time early years’ primary classroom teacher. The successful applicant will be teaching a Prep class. The position is a fixed term contract for the remainder of 2017. There is a strong possibility that this maternity replacement position will continue in 2018. The position will commence at the beginning of week 3 or 4 of term 3, 2017 (specific starting date to be confirmed). There is also the possibility of teaching this Prep class full time for the final two weeks of term 2, before commencing in week 3 or 4 of term 3. There is also the possibility of an ongoing leadership role for the right candidate

Selection Criteria:

·  Demonstrate a high level of classroom teaching skills and the capacity to work with colleagues to continually improve teaching and learning.

·  Demonstrate the ability to monitor and assess student learning data and to use this data to inform teaching for improved student learning.

·  Demonstrate a high level of written and verbal communication skills and a high level of interpersonal skills including a capacity to develop constructive relationships with students, parents and staff.

·  Demonstrate a commitment and capacity to actively contribute to a broad range of college activities and a commitment to ongoing professional learning to enable further development of skills, expertise and teaching capacity.

·  Demonstrate a commitment to the values and vision of Heatherton Christian College.

The successful applicant will need to demonstrate a genuine heart and care towards young people, be a team player, and be willing to embrace new challenges and opportunities.
