Early Childhood PAPBS Network Data Requirements
This document is intended to both provide guidance about the data tools that PW-PBIS teams should be using to guide their PBIS implementation and when the information collected with these tools should be submitted to the PAPBS network. Each of these data tools is designed to provide essential information that programs should be using to guide their decisions about implementation of PW-PBIS at their site(s). None of this data is collected simply for submission to the network.
The target collection dates are designed to accommodate the various times of the year that programs might begin implementation combined with the desire to collect annual data at a consistent time so that aggregated data will be meaningful. No matter when a program starts implementation, they should collect baseline data in order to guide their early work and to provide a starting point against which to measure their later progress. Data can be entered into the database at any time and should be entered as soon as possible after collection.
The midyear submission date was included to help coaches and facilitators manage their work load and to provide information to the state leadership team about the support individual programs might need. If a program begins implementation too late in the year to submit baseline data by December 31, they should simply enter their baseline data as soon as they have it. It is an individual program decision whether to then collect and submit progress data in the same year. For instance, implementation starts in November, baseline data is collected and submitted byJan/Feb. This program would probably benefit from collecting progress data in the spring. Alternatively, implementation starts in January and baseline data is collected and submitted by March/April. The amount of change likely to occur by May/June is probably not enough to warrant the work required to repeat the BoQ, TPOTS, etc. in that program year. This program would then submit progress data no later than June 30 of the following year. More frequent updating of data is certainly encouraged but this is the frequency that is requested by the PAPBS network.
