Post: Data and Quality Assistant

Hours: 37.5

Salary: £20,000 - £23,000, dependant on experience

Overview of Role:

To support with the development and analysis of robust performance data and quality reports.

Analysing and providing information to support the Senior Management Team and service

leads in decision-making relating to service development, quality monitoring and key performance indicators. Support the continued development of organisational governance

by preparing reports to inform the hospice governance structure.

Be part of the SystmOne and Datix support team, linking closely with Executive Clinical Support Team Leader in maintaining and developing the system alongside supporting staff

in the use of the system.

Key Tasks:

Performance Data

·  To work closely with Head of Quality, all services and the IT department to support and improve the use of data throughout the organisation.

·  Responsible for building, developing and maintaining specialist reports and reporting capabilities to meet internal and external requirements, meeting set timescales.

·  Provide timely delivery and accurate statistics and reporting, ensuring that systems and procedures are in place to support the production of EMH wide Performance Management Information from all areas of the hospice.

·  Provision of data, information and analysis to support targets and Key Performance Indicators.

·  Develop reporting functionality, reporting and queries to support contractual performance monitoring to include the production of accurate and ad hoc reports and downloads, as required.

·  Implement dashboards using Microsoft Power BI and DAX as a platform to display live data for all services at the hospice.

·  Producing ad-hoc reports and creating performance data models/frameworks to support new pilot projects.

SystmOne and DATIX

·  Support with developments of SystmOne from a reporting perspective.

·  Advise on the impact of change to SystmOne from a reporting view point.

·  To be responsible for data quality within SystmOne to ensure consistent data entry standards are maintained. Run data audits and identify problem areas, providing feedback on problems to line managers and devise and run targeted training programmes as required

·  Understand the organisational requirements for SystmOne and ensure any changes are supported by proposing configuration solutions that meet the clinical quality and data integrity requirements.

·  Work closely with the Executive Clinical Support Team Leader to ensure clinical template, care plan and overall system design meets reporting requirements.

·  To provide training, and support to the Hospice SystmOne users and further develop the role ofchampions, including creation of training materials, working with the Executive Clinical Support Team Leader.

·  Maintaining a log to ensure that developmental releases by TPP for SystmOne are considered and impact assessed.

·  Support the Executive Clinical Support Team Leader in identifying and managing problems arising within SystmOne, liaising with TPP where required

·  Work with the Caldicott Guardian and the Head of Quality to ensure that suitable and sufficient information sharing protocols are in place and to advise on any risks and/or developments that will affect the patient record database.

·  Be part of the help desk service for SystmOne and Datix queries; act as single point of contact with TPP for technical and reporting issues

·  Contribute towards user set up on SystmOne and Datix, and management of leavers.

Quality

·  Work with the Head of Quality and Executive Clinical Support Team Leader on the OACC’s project to ensure reports are relevant and aid clinical practice and inform management of results.

·  Working with the Head of Quality to support with quality reporting to the CCG and Patient Services Committee.

·  Collation from teams of producing quarterly reports, risk assessments, audits and action plans detailed in the Earl Mountbatten Hospice Quality Improvement Programme.

·  Assist Head of Quality with developing EMH Annual Quality Improvement Plan.

·  Collate quarterly Hospice UK benchmarking data.

·  Support with the new incident reporting programme (Datix) and run reports as directed by the Head of Quality.

·  Update quality boards monthly and ‘You said…we did’ boards quarterly.

·  Undertake delegated quality project work from the Head of Quality.

·  Minute relevant data and quality related meetings, e.g. Lessons Learnt, SystmOne Implementation and User Group, Falls and Pressure Ulcer Review Groups.

·  Maintaining CAS alert log working with the Head of Quality.

·  Assist the Head of Quality with planning work and delivery of the annual Quality Account.

·  Support and carry out research and project work undertaken by the department, as required.

General
