ear Parents/Guardians,

We thank the Almighty God who made it possible for us to have a successful 2ndterm. We wish all our parents, guardians, students and staff of the College a happy Easter holiday. I sincerely appreciate the team spirit exhibited by the management staff in achieving some of the goals set at the beginning of this session.Above all, the cooperation received from parents is highly commendable. May the Almighty God bless and reward you immensely.

2. RESUMPTION:

The College resumes for 3rdterm of 2016/2017 session on the29thApril, 2017 from 10am to 5pm. Parents/ guardians are to note that student(s) that fails to come on that day and by the time stipulated will not be allowed into the College until the Friday following the resumption day or subsequent Fridays. Checking in of boarders on those days will stop at 5:00pm.

3. PAYMENT OF SCHOOL FEES/OTHER CHARGES:

Parents are strongly advised to pay their children’s/wards fees and other charges during the holidays. Those who have outstanding fees and charges to settle should also ensure that they fully comply before resumption.

Note: (a) Henceforth, student are to drop photocopies of the College receipts of all payments with the Housemasters at the point of checking in. for this, parents/guardians are to visit the Bursary department during the holidays to convert their Remita payment advice into College receipts.

(b) All payments are to be done through theTSA Account.

4. STUDENTS’PROVISION/POCKET MONEY:

The College still prohibits the possession of provision. If brought to the hostels, they will be confiscated. Parents/guardians are advised to deposit enough pocket money (minimum of N2,000.00) for each child/ward with the Bursary Department through their House Masters/Mistresses. No student should hold more than N200.00

5. HOSTEL REQUIREMENTS:

All students are reminded to come back with the under listed items which are needed for comfortable and healthy living in the hostel. Any student who fails to present the entire required items at the point of checking in will be sent back home. The items are:

  1. 2 complete set of cutleries (2 knives, 2 spoons and 2 forks)
  2. 2 drinking cups
  3. 1 mop
  4. 1 tin of original Izal or 1 bottle of Jik bleach/Dettol
  5. 1 keg and 1 bucket
  6. 1 bundle of broom
  7. 1 mattress (foam) with cover and 1 pillow
  8. 2 bed sheets and 2 pillow cases (white and house colour check)
  9. 250g Omo detergent (2)
  10. 2 pairs of House Wears
  11. 2 pairs of Uniforms
  12. 2 Plates (flat stainless plates)
  13. Black shoes, Black sandals
  14. 4 Handkerchiefs
  15. Hostel dues of N500 for all classes
  16. 8 rolls of toilet paper for personal use

NOTE: Any mattress without cover will not be accepted. Such student will have to buy new mattress at the gate.

6. ACADEMICS:

SS 3 students have begun WASSCE and some coaching lessons are on-going to enable them prepare well for the examination. BECE will begin on 24/4/2017 for JS 3 students. Therefore, they are expected back in school on 22/04/2017.

7. SCHOOL PORTAL:

Following the introduction of new educative technology initiative to the school, our attention has been drawn to the fact that parents are not maximizing the use of our portal and website.

Kindly note that there are lots of benefits attached to using the portal e.g result
checker, assignment checker, bill checker, newsletter and other updates of activities in our school.

NOTE:

i)All students without passport photograph on their report card are required to bring a copy of their passport photograph with name and class clearly written behind it on resumption.

ii)All students can request for their usernames and password from their class teachers or from the office of Vice Principal Academics

iii)Once results are completed, an SMS notification will be sent to all parents.

8. CONTRABANDS:

The following items are branded contraband material and as such, should not be brought into the College for whatever reason. They are: Telephone/handset and chargers, Cameras, Electrical appliances, Stoves, Noodles, Candles, Kerosene, Muftidresses and all kinds of provisions. Contrabands would be confiscated and destroyed.

9. VISITING DAYS:

Parents are allowed to pay visit to their children/wards only on Visiting Days. Any parent seen paying visit in the College other than the first Saturday of the month that has been designated as visiting day will have the child/ward de-boarded permanently. Visiting time is between 10:00am to 5:00pm on such days.

10. DISCIPLINE:

Day student will not be allowed into the College once it is 8: 00am. The College is putting in more effort to see that various acts of indiscipline are totally eradicated from the College. Parents are to talk to their children/ wards during this holidays since the College will continue to punish defaulters as they come up with all sorts of anti – social behaviours. The College have zero tolerance to bullying, fagging, gambling through patronage of “Bet9ja”, stealing and breaking of bounds.

-Parents are to note that the College frowns at all sorts of Hair cut tagged styles. Your ward will be sent back at the gate if he fails to comply whether as a boarder or as a Day student.

-Parents are hereby urged to warn their children/ward against the wilful destruction of College properties such as desks and chairs, whiteboards, defacing of classrooms and hostel walls etc. Henceforth, any facility destroyed in the school would be replaced by the students.

11. OUT BREAK OF MENINGITIS IN DURUMI

The College in collaboration with the PTA have handled the meningitis scare which has become a national concern through the vaccination of all students. We have our records of vaccinated students; all unvaccinated students will not be allowed into the College next term. All JS3 students should come to the College during the holidays for their vaccination.

12. EXCURSION:

Some of our students have been selected for an excursion at NTA Headquarters. Details will be communicated via SMS to affected parents.
