RACE NOTICE

WELCOME

On behalf of the Pembina Nordic Ski Club (PNSC), welcome to Drayton Valley and to Eagle Point Provincial Park. We had great conditions and a good turnout last year, and we hope for an even better event for our second year. If you’ve skied at Pembina Nordic before, you know how great the trails are, and if you haven’t it’s time you did.

All distances are open to skating or classic technique. A classic track will be set over the entire course.

This event will be hosted by the Pembina Nordic Ski Club.

Venue

Pembina Nordic Ski Club Trails.

From Hwy 22 3km north of Drayton Valley, turn east on TWP 494 and travel east 6 km to PNSC. (Do not follow the signs to the downhill ski club).

Cancellation

Cancellation will follow the protocol set out in the CCA Technical Package for Provincial Cross Country Ski Events. Announcement of cancellation will be made through the CCA and Pembina Nordic websites ( , ).

Wax/Warming Facilities

A combination of the PNSC cabin and additional tents will be available on-site to provide warm space for skiers. Private space for changing may not be available, so skiers should come to the race site in their skiing gear, or be prepared to change in their vehicle.

Space will be available to set up waxing tables in the main parking area adjacent to the chalet. Note that there is no electrical power available on site.

Food Services

Each registered skier will receive a ticket that can be redeemed for chili and a bun at the race venue. For those who are not skiing, chili will be available for purchase as well. There is no running water available on site. Please bring sufficient food and drink for the day.

Parking

The main parking lot by the PNSC chalet will be reserved for team vehicles and waxing. A secondary parking lot across TWP 494 from the PNSC gate will be available for general parking – approximately 300m from the start / finish area. Competitors may be dropped off in the main parking lot.

D. ENTRY PROCESS AND DEADLINE

All payments must be processed through Zone 4 prior to the deadline.

Deadline

All registrations and payments must be received by 11:00 pm, January 9, 2015.No registrations will be accepted after this. No race day registrations.

To ensure accuracy of entries and facilitate race list completion, skiers are asked to checktheir entries on the Zone 4 confirmation list and send corrections to the Competition Secretary beforeJanuary 9.

F. INFORMED CONSENT AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK AGREEMENT

All competitors that are not members of a CCC registered club must sign the Informed Consent and Assumption of Risk Agreement before they will be allowed to compete. If the participant is under the age of majority in which the participant resides, a parent or guardian must sign the agreement.
