Each participant must be at least 18 years old.

When you arrive, park in the south parking lot. If you are standing on the sidewalk looking at the front entrance, the south lot is to your right. You may also use on street parking. The front entrance is the door facing 3rd Street.

Check In time is at 8:45 pm. A member of Ohio Ghost Hunters will check you in first – although we will have a guest roster, we also ask that you bring your confirmation or ticket to the event. Once we’ve checked you in, you’ll proceed on into the jail for some preliminaries with the jail volunteer. All equipment must be torn down and everyone ready to leave no later than 4 am. (no, you don’t have to stay until 4 am).

The Jail requires everyone to sign a waiver. A copy is being sent to you ahead of time. Please have it read, filled out and signed when you arrive. Each person needs to sign one, so you will need to print out multiple copies if you have RSVPd a guest.

You may bring food, snacks, nonalcoholic drinks; we only ask that you pick up after yourself. Your items will be kept in the break room on the 1st floor in the living area.

The Jail will start us off for the evening with a 45 minute tour. We will then divide into smaller groups, with a team leader from Ohio Ghost Hunters; the elite team as well as other investigation team members will be there that night to ghost hunt with you and teach you about paranormal equipment. Additionally, the jail will have a volunteer host on site at all times while we are there, in case of any concerns or needs.

There is electricity and the building is heated, but the cell blocks in the upper floors and basement can get chilly or warm depending on the temperature outside….. be prepared so that you are comfortable.

The jail has 16 cameras mounted throughout the premises. If you want a recording of the investigation from these cameras, bring a 16 gb flashdrive and $30 with you and they will process this for you. It will be sent to you via Priority Mail.

Bring any of your own equipment that you wish. If this is your first investigation, we recommend a camera (not on your cell phone) and a recorder – either digital or tape. These can be purchased at Walmart, Best Buy, etc. Please do not feel that you have to purchase equipment in order to attend, but it will make your night that much more enjoyable and memorable.

For those of you who are brand new, we are sharing one of our training videos with you, on the basics of paranormal investigating. Please know that some of the information applies only to the team (i.e. no shorts when investigating a client’s home). You are welcome to wear shorts if that is what you wish; these are team standards only, and this is a team training video, however there are many good points within. No Ouija boards and no séances are permitted.

No alcohol, no drugs, no smoking inside the premises, although there is an outside smoking area. If you enter the premises under the influence of drugs or alcohol you will promptly be escorted out; no refunds.
